Comments about Ibanez SRKP4 with Korg Mini Kaoss Pad 2 Electric Bass Guitar:
I got this bass brand new from the warehouse/factory at a steal. When I got it, there was a tiny blemish on the finish that later grew to be a huge spot where the finished chipped from playing it. The finish definitely is not very rugged, but is nice in a sort of unrefined way. The bass came with brand new d-addario strings and there were no buzzes on the bass and low action.
The kaoss pad is pretty easy to use, but I am sure there are things it can do that I don't know about yet; the manual was not very detailed. It is a large folded page with instructions in 5 different languages. It isn't a book at all. Sometimes the effect can over power the bass tone, which you can control after messing with the function button. This thing also eats batteries, especially if you use the recorder. The headphone 1/8 inch jack is perfect for hearing the effects in stereo and practicing without bothering anyone. It makes practicing very convenient too. The pad uses sd cards for the recorder, I got an 8 gb for 10 dollars at another retailer. (enough for 2 hours recording). I especially like the disco siren on the device, which I use to frighten any suspicious person that walks by my house. The pad also has a tap tempo you can use to make the effect sound more musical in different contexts. The distortion is pretty good, but it sounds quieter than the clean tone when played through an amp. It is still very convenient and usable.
I do love this bass despite the problems with the finish. Just make sure you get a good deal on it. I couldn't be happier with it for the price I paid, which I am not allowed to disclose. This bass was the star of the show when I used it for a gig. People were asking be what it was I was using. You may have to convince narrow minded bandmates to let you use it, but I think it is definitely a must try for anyone who is in the market for a unique bass,
