For 25 years the SR806 has given bass players a modern alternative. With its continued popularity, Ibanez is constantly endeavoring to answer the wider needs of a variety of players, at a variety of budgets. But no matter what the specs, the heart is the same-SR continues to excite with its smooth, fast neck, lightweight body, and perfectly matched electronics.
The neck tongue not only creates a unique look, it also makes utilizing the higher frets easier and coupling Jatoba with Bubinga has made it strong and stable despite its thinness.
The MK1 pickups are split coil designs that provides a very wide frequency range and enhanced definition for maximum accuracy. The Neck and Bridge pickups have equal response, like traditional single coils, but without the hum and noise.

Comments about Ibanez SR806 6-String Electric Bass:
Ok so right out of the box it looked amazing. Nice transparent finish over a killer burl top. The setup was pretty well set I was only able to get -1 64th out of the action after I got it. 5 64ths on bass and 4 on the treble. The neck is very smooth and playable for not having a finish to it. The pups are very versatile and get great tone for what ever i want to do. The construction is strong and well done. It's a pretty light bass weight wise. I really love this bass it is very much worth the money and wouldnt waste time on a cheaper instrument. My only cons would be the gold hardware. I'm not much of a gold fan and it does clash a bit with the darkness of the finish. Also if the control knobs either matched the rest of the hardware or were a metal in comparison to hard plastic. Playing wise definitely 5 stars but the gold does throw me as do the plastic knobs. So I give it a 4.
