Great Bass for the money

By Joe Manis

from Muncie, Indiana

Comments about Ibanez SR755 5-String Bass Guitar:

Out of the box the SR755 is a pretty little thing, the walnut top is really nice. This one weighs in at about 8.5 lbs. so it doesn't feel like a tree around your neck. The set-up from the factory isn't very good so a little time on the bench along with a string change makes this guitar one of the easiest playing, greatest sounding 5 strings on the market, and I have played most of them in this price range. The Tone is, as they say "AWESOME" and the neck is one of the fastest you will ever play. The fact that I will never see 70 again and I have very small hands, makes this piece is well worth the price. The 755 neck is just a little wider (about 1/4 inch) than my SR500 which makes switching off a breeze. Try it, you might just keep it.

this bass is sick!!!

By Richard Nistler

from Salt Lake City, Ut.

Comments about Ibanez SR755 5-String Bass Guitar:

This is one of of the best sounding basses I have ever heard. It sounds better than my warwick corvette. I run Mesa power and thing has great bottom end. On the other end the highs and mids. are crisp and clear. cuts right thu the distortion of the guitars. totally bad a##.. very fast neck. the bubinga and walnut offers great sustain. I have no complaints about the sound. And it looks good, just wish the hardware was silver instead of gold.

My Better Half

By Zach Swartzendruber

from Greenville, SC

Comments about Ibanez SR755 5-String Bass Guitar:

I love this bass. I picked it up from the store after it was shipped in. I opened it right there in the store. I saw It and was just in amazement. When I plugged her in for the first for a set. She sounded amazing. Then when I hit the low B, I can't explain it. This rush feeling kicks in and I just get excited. Allot of people have commented on the great tone and looks she has. I'm pleased I chose the SR755. You can't go wrong. But I will say this. Be careful with the adapter that connects with the 9-volt battery. Now this probably only happened to me, But I accidently stretched one of the circle things that grip on to the positive/negative (can't remember)thing on any 9-Volt. Luckily it's an easy fix. So Ibanez had nothing to deal with that. That was all me. But I definitely give props to Ibanez who created an awesome Bass

My new favorite bass!

By Ken

from Baltimore, MD

Comments about Ibanez SR755 5-String Bass Guitar:

I've used an Ibanez Gio 4-string, Ibanez 4-string AEB Acoustic, Warwick fretless corvette, Hofner Icon B, and Ibanez SRX595, and the Ibanez SR755 is easily my favorite. The feel is amazing. Thin body with extremely fast and thin neck. The wood and Bartolini pickups are a perfect combination. And the knobs (with separate volumes for each pickup) allow the most options for finding the exact tone you want. There are an almost limitless amount of tone possibilities, with the two volumes, and bass, mid, treble, and treble boost/cut options. I love the look of it too. The wood hues with gold hardware give it a stylish, almost regal look that makes it look more expensive than it is. To me this is the best of all worlds of all the basses I've used. It was hard putting out the money for it as it is also my most expensive bass, but I have no regrets. I also tested this against a Marcus Miller signature bass which was much more money (and is also an amazing bass) but the Ibanez SR755 won out in feel, tonal flexibility, and price. (FYI - I tested this bass with Mark Bass, Line6 Lowdown, Ampeg, and Acoustic bass amps. It sounded amazing on all but the Acoustic bass amp. In my opinion Acoustics are not great sounding amps and if you are using one, you might want to upgrade amps before looking at more expensive basses. Just my opinion)

Amazing

By EVAN KASA

from Hamburg, NJ

Comments about Ibanez SR755 5-String Bass Guitar:

I just brought this bass home today and havent put it down once. I've been playing it for about 7 hours straight and thats not exagerating. The bass is light which is always good for my shoulder thats always in pain. The looks alone have me in aw. But the sound and playability are to good for words. The neck is incredibly fast. The pick-ups sound great. The eq comes in handy. Treble all the way down and bass and mids all the way up. It's an amazing sound and once you pick it up you won't put it down and also the mid/cut switch is fun for a tremolo affect...Buy it it's worth it

What can I say!!!!!!!!!!

By BCbass

from Wildomr CA

Comments about Ibanez SR755 5-String Bass Guitar:

I normally do not write reviews but I will on this one. I received this bass last Friday and rehearsed with it that Sunday. What an amazing BASS, I did have to set the string height a little and the intonation was fine other than that it was perfect fit form and function. The 3 band eq works great, The tone is a little noisey but a little of it is all you need, I set my GK head at null and use the bass eq to give me the mids and tone that I need, the controls are simple and are located in a decent location the selecter switch works great. The neck on the insturment is FAST and when I say fast I mean in all positions, I feel no drag on the neck while playing and the neck being thinner than most fit's my hand well. I know this sounds corney but I feel that this bass and I have been searching for each other and as soon as I plugged her in we were one. I love it.

Just epic!

By Nate Duerksen

from KC, Kansas

Comments about Ibanez SR755 5-String Bass Guitar:

I've got 5 guitars/basses and this is definitely my baby. The neck is really smooth, the eq is really responsive, the notes are nice and punchy, rather than thick and muddy (but you can get think and muddy if you want). The low B punches you in the face every time you hit it. The only thing I would change about it is that I wish it had a bit more of a growl to it, and the battery doesn't seem to really be off when you unplug it. I let it sit for a month or two 'cause life got in the way (shame on me, I know) and the battery was just flat dead when I picked it up again. Other than that, it's the best bass I've ever played.

Five Fingers of Fabulous

By James Peterson

from Baltimore, MD

Comments about Ibanez SR755 5-String Bass Guitar:

I have historically been a Fender player. My main workhorse is a Fender Marcus Miller Signature 4 string Jazz and an early sixties Fender Fretless Jazz which is an exact duplicate both appearance and soundwise to what Jaco used for many many years. I was intrigued by the power of the Bartolini pickups and active electronics and so I went to Guitar Center in Towson, MD in search of an Ibanez SR 600/700 series four string. They had none in stock though the saleswoman (who knows my playing style, challenged me to enter the world of five string and showed me the brand new SR 755. I was immediately drawn to the looks and sound but thought the price tag would be unreachable. It wasn't. I love this bass and everything about it. The learning curve from four-five will take a minute but it shall be a journey of love with this fine instrument. Beautifully made and incredible sound. GRAB IT!!!!
