Comments about Ibanez SR600 SR Electric Bass Guitar:

Just got this today, no mater what settings I use it sounds like distorted fuzz. Maybe it is the Elixir strings it came with? Strings feel thin & cheap. Most likely going to send this one back, never sent back a bass no matter what brand it was, Bottom line is I don't like it.

Sounds great, but finish was bad

Comments about Ibanez SR600 SR Electric Bass Guitar:

I purchased this bass a few months ago. After playing bass for about a year I learned what to look for in a bass. the sr600 offered everything I was looking for, it has great sound and an awesome finish, sadly guitar center didn't have any in stock so I had to order mine and wait to have it delivered. I was very pleased with the sound, it is very versatile in tone. Each control changes the sound dramatically! you can pretty much make it sound however you want! the technology in the pickups and controls are amazing, they pick up every note! but I was very disappointed in the finish. it looks nothing like it does in the picture. I would've returned it for another one but I got the last one in stock (at least at the moment), but it sounds too good to let it go. the finish is just a single dark brown tone. there is no contrast between the pores in the wood and the smooth areas. I am very dissatisfied with it. I almost thought it was a different bass when I opened the box. if Ibanez reads this I hope they examine their guitars more thoroughly. I paid too much to not get the finish they promised. I wish I could change mine for the one in the picture. but other than the finish, there are absolutely no complaints. anyone who really cares about tone, flexibility, and playability would love this bass.

Comments about Ibanez SR600 SR Electric Bass Guitar:

So I saw a few videos of the Ibanez SR506 on youtube and looked into the SR series and found a used 600 for a good price and bought it. I had originally played a Squire P-bass before I bought this one. I am absolutely thrilled with this bass. It has active pickups, which provide such a crisp professional sound. It also has such a wide variety of tonal options, you have a pick-up dial that makes loads of difference when you pan from bridge to neck pickups, it has three EQ knobs for boosting and cutting bass (low frequency), middle (mid frequency), and treble (high frequency). It also has a mid-frequency selector switch as well. With that being said, this bass can achieve so many different sounds. You can pan the pick-up dial to the neck pick-up, turn up the treble and middle and get a grungey twangy rocking sound, you can keep the pick-up dial centered and cut a little bit of mid and boost a little bit of treble for a crisp funky slap, or you can cut some treble and boost some bass while selecting your bridge pickup for a warm natural almost fretless sounding tone. Just the other day I stopped into a local music store for the first time and played two spectre basses, a tobias bass, a warwick corvette bass, and a jazz bass and then I picked up the SR600 they had and it was still the best sounding bass there, I then bought my new bass strings which was the reason I went in the first place since I hadn't changed in a few months and went home and "slapped" them on and then realized how much difference new strings make and just how good this bass sounds and especially how crisp it sounds with new strings. I rank it up there and higher than many much more expensive basses. In all honesty, this bass should be worth a few hundred bucks more than it is; but it's not, so you should get it now, it's really a great deal and you wont be upset.

Comments about Ibanez SR600 SR Electric Bass Guitar:

This bass is awesome. That about says it. The first time i played a sr500 in guitar center i fell in love with the bartolini pickups the things can do whatever you want they can sing like piano or rock hard with a lot of growl. You can even dial up a jazz bass sound (minus the hum). The reason i went with the Sr600 was i like the Swamp Ash body I like the tone of it better. This guitar is built exceptionally well I could not find any flaws at all. It also has sustain for days. THe action was absolutely perfect right out the box. I couldn't be happier. You will not find a guitar of this quality any where near this price point.

Amazing quality for an incredible price!

Comments about Ibanez SR600 SR Electric Bass Guitar:

I was recently looking to upgrade my cheap Cort bass that I bought off my old college roommate years ago. At the local music store, I tried Stingrays, Fenders, Schecters, Ibanez, Warwicks, etc. I was more than surprised that the Ibanez SR600 ended up being my favorite bass out of all of them! The thin neck feels fantastic (I have smaller hands so it fits perfectly for me). The Bartolini pickups have a truly great, punchy and deep sound, and the tone-shaping options in the electronics are killer. A full 3-band EQ, complete with a pickup blend knob and a mid-frequency selector switch, make for a whole host of sounds at your disposal, from deep jazzy tones to the "trash can" sound of nu-metal.

The actual look of the bass is oh-so-pretty. My particular bass is darker than the one pictured, which looks even better in my opinion. The grain of the wood is not just for looks, though: it's fully textured as such, making the bass even more unique. The battery in the back is extremely easy to reach. Just a cover door with a clasp; no annoying screws to deal with. Also, the truss rod has a sliding cover on it, again eliminating the need to deal with annoying screws.

For the price you absolutely cannot beat this value. The feel, look, and options of this bass rival those over twice its price. And one more thing: the bass itself is fairly light, not a back-breaker when played for long periods of time by any means. Ibanez for the win!
More tone shaping options than you could ask for!
Quality this solid does not belong on an instrument this cheap.
      Seriously, this is way underpriced!

      Great Bass!

Comments about Ibanez SR600 SR Electric Bass Guitar:

I played bass in a band about 25 years ago. I switched to guitar then and, aside from the occasional trip to the Guitar Center to "visit" the basses there, I haven't played bass since then. The Ibanez SR series basses felt the best to me. The action is fast and the fret board is fairly narrow, making the transition from guitar easier. I also like the thin body. It is very comfortable. The sound of this bass is very versitile. It ranges from deep & full to thin and bright. I like that I can adjust the wide range of tones rign on the guitar by using the active EQ and the pick-up balancer. I am thoroughly pleased with this bass.

      Great Bass

      By Sledgehammer

Comments about Ibanez SR600 SR Electric Bass Guitar:

This bass has some pretty great features about it. First and formost it sounds great. It has a 3 band eq. Which is essential to have a broad array of genre's. It also has the mid-freq switch, which is awesome. I push that switch over anytime i change up parts in the song. It looks great and is pretty light for an ibanez. Usually i can find something with a bass that i don't like...but i'm having a hard time with this puppy. Sounds sexy through a swr workman pro. Use about 70% onboard treble, 50% onboard mid and 60% onboard bass for an amazing slap/funk sounds
