Comments about Ibanez SR600 Bass Guitar:

Love the feel of the action, smooth. Like the description says the neck is thinner than most normal necks and it may take a bit to get used to, but easier for those with smaller hands. I have another bass with a hipshot that I use for drop D tuning and have not had an issue with switching between the 2. With the boost/cut controls you can get pretty much any sound you want.

Comments about Ibanez SR600 Bass Guitar:

I have a played a variety of basses and I can honestly say that the action on this bass is unlike any I've ever seen. I was skeptical of this bass due to the extremely thin neck (I was worried it wouldn't be able to withstand down-tuning). That is not the case. The only reason I would not suggest you buy this bass is if you are constantly switching tunings. If you leave it at one tuning, it sounds great. I sometimes go between standard and drop D tunings. Because of the small neck, even just a little change like going into drop D changes the intonation a lot. The Bartolini pick-ups sound great. They aren't the best sounding pick-ups I've ever heard, but for the price, they are definitely worth it. The natural look of this bass is phenomenal. I expected it to look nice, but didn't expect it to be this amazing. All my friends have commented on how impressive it looks. BOTTOM LINE: If you're looking for a bass in this price range, and you keep it tuned the same way all the time, you can't go wrong with the Ibanez SR600. If you want the ability to change your tunings, take a look at the Sterling (by Music Man) RAY 34.

Very fragile, lots of buzzing if you don't hit the note exactly right.

WOW !!!

Comments about Ibanez SR600 Bass Guitar:

I ordered this and had it shipped to my local GC in Langhorne PA. It arrived in 5 days and that included a weekend. A beautiful instrument in every sense. I took it home and played it, and it had some buzzing, probably due to the ride in the cold UPS trailer from Kansas to Pennsylvania. The G and D buzzed on the first 3 frets. No biggie. I took it back the next day and the store tech did a minor neck adjustment (it took all of five minuets) and now it's just AWESOME. And the SOUND !!! If you like the Ibanez neck and playability you won't be disappointed with this bass. Did I mention it's BEAUTIFUL as well? Buy one.
