The SR500QM 4-String electric bass guitar from Ibanez is a solid acquisition and addition to any bass player's arsenal. Standard SR basses offer a wide line-up, from beginner to working pros. From higher-end Bartolini pickups to Ibanez EXF pickups, they are versatile enough to play any kind of music, while SR's signature "Slim & Fast" neck gives you great playability. The 5pc Jatoba/Bubinga neck and rosewood fingerboard are comfortable and smooth allowing quick movement along the neck. The mahogany body with quilted maple top provide both style and function. Mahogany is the ideal wood for basses because it's rigid and dense, creating outstanding lows and low mids. Its Bartolni MK-1 pickups and EQB-IIIS 3-band EQ w/ mid frequency switch give you complete control over your sound so you can dial it in just right.

Comments about Ibanez SR500QM 4-String Electric Bass Guitar:
A few years ago I downsized my equipment hanging on to only a few key peices, one of which was a Peavey Grind 4 string that I had picked up as a back up. In it's own right, the Grind is a decent bass however, I was never completly happy with the sound quality. Two days ago I found myself at GC in Portsmouth, NH just looking to trade the Grind for something similar to satisfy my never ending search for the perfect bass sound. The store manager suggested that I upgrade instead of just making a lateral trade and he pointed me in the direction of the SR500QM. I am blown away by this bass! In my 25 plus years of playing bass I have played everything from cheap foreign nock-offs to high end customs and boutique basses. Playing a lot of blues I have and always will be a Fender fan. I am now also playing a lot of Prog Rock and need to have a lot of control over my sound. The SR500QM will be the go to bass for that. Ibanez gets 5 stars across the board. The quality that went into this bass for the price is amazing. Being this impressed with their mid priced bass, I can't wait to try out some of their higher end basses. My only regret, waiting 25 years to try Ibanez.
