For 25 years the SR4006 Prestige has given bass players a modern alternative. With its continued popularity, Ibanez is constantly endeavoring to answer the wider needs of a variety of players, at a variety of budgets. But no matter what the specs, the heart is the same-SR continues to excite with its smooth, fast neck, lightweight body, and perfectly matched electronics.
The Power Curve III 3-band EQ was developed specifically for the SR Prestige line. The Mid Q control makes adjustment of the core of your bass - the mids - extremely simple, and the +/-12dB EQ variable range enables a more natural sounding bass tone. Equipped with an EQ On/Off switch that outputs directly from the Bartolini pickup.
The Bartolini pickups are custom made specifically for Ibanez to obtain an even deeper bass tone. "The US made pickups are hand made at our factory in California exclusively for Ibanez. Ibanez was the first to ask for much deeper tone from the neck pickup while retaining a bright tone for the bridge, unlike traditional designs that used approximately equal pickup tone. The pickups are dual coil designs in several soapbar shapes, some rounded top and some flat top. In all cases, the Neck pickup tone is very deep and the Bridge pickup tone is bright. This allows the widest tonal sweep from the Blend control. Enjoy the wide tonal range!" -Bill Bartolini
The Mono-Rail IV Bridge is the ultimate in string isolation for bass. Each saddle is independently and securely locked down to the body for maximum vibration transfer without interference. One screw controls the height of each saddle for easy adjustment. The neck is constructed with two Titanum Reinforcement Bars inside a 5 piece Wenge/Bubinga design. This adds up to an extraordinarily reliable neck.
