Overview

For 25 years the SR has given bass players a modern alternative. Embraced by bassists over the decades, the iconic series continues to excite with its smooth, fast neck, lightweight body and perfectly matched electronics.

The SR370E is a handsome 4-string bass designed for the experienced player. The bass starts with an immaculately finished Maple body. Other features include a sturdy 5-piece Maple/Rosewood SR4 neck, a Rosewood fretboard, and an Accu-cast B120 bridge for superior string vibration transfer and precise intonation. Cosmo Black hardware adds a hint of stealth.

At the heart of the SR370E’s electronics are two PowerSpan Dual Coil pickups. Their stainless pole pieces offer higher output, clarity, and fullness than any in the SR370’s class. Accessed by the 3-way “Power Tap” switch, these proprietary pickups offer a choice of three tonal personalities: A rich humbucker sound, a pure single-coil sound, or an enhanced single coil sound— fattened by lows from the humbucker pickups. Add the ability to dial in precise tone preferences via the Ibanez Custom 3-band EQ, and the SR370E is a musical chameleon.

This bass rocks socks!!!

Comments about Ibanez SR370E 4-String Electric Bass:

This is my first owned bass but I have played many other including Fender American Standard Jazz Basses, P-Basses, Squires, and Peaveys. None of them compare, I love this bass so much! The neck is thin which is great and makes playing easier, and its great to have 2 full octaves per string. I love the 3-Band EQ, you can get some serious punch up high, or to a low rumble, it can be soft and jazzy, or it could be used for hard rock. Overall it has a very flexible sound. The action is great and adjustable to any players standards. I got mine used so there were some minor problems with it but all were easily fixed. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the battery in the back, just make sure you replace it so it doesn't die while your'e playing. But overall, this bass looks and sounds amazing, you can't go wrong with the Ibanez SR370!!!

Comments about Ibanez SR370E 4-String Electric Bass:

Honestly I am truly amazed with this Bass and how much I truly like it. It feels very good in my hands, smooth fast neck, and the body is very comfortable to get around. I honestly have played on many different Basses including Schecter and Warwick and really truly surprised that this Bass felt just as good. The frets where actually finished well and didn't scuff my hands when sliding the neck like other cheaper Bass's played on and again the neck is just super smooth.

It did however require a full run through and set-up. The Bass was DIRTY, I mean literally there was still fine saw dust on the neck. The fret board was pretty dirty, and the neck bolt holes and output jack hole needed all the crud cleaned out. The bridge had two loose screws on the base plate, one of the tuners was so loose that it wobbled when I first tried tuning the G string, and then neck also needed tightened including one of the screws being several screwdriver turns loose. But when I tightened the thing all up the Bass feels extremely solid now.

When I lowered the action to almost flat I did start picking up buzz on the E string from the 5th fret back to 1. I loosened the truss rod back one turn of the allen wrench in the adjustment slot which added just enough relief to take the buzz out. The action is still pretty low and does really well. The strings it comes with are OK but to me they always feel spongy and sound OK but I know there are better ones and always strip strings fairly quickly. I put on a set of RotoSound Flatwound 77's and it brought the thing to life. Night and day difference in the quality of the sound and the amount of output. Highly recommend if you pick one of these up.

I honestly would have rated this a 5 had it not been for the fact I basically had to finish the initial assembly. But it doesn't take but 30 minutes or so to strip it down, tighten it all up, clean it, and put the strings back on. For less than 400 bucks, nothing to be sad about.

Awesome playability. Inonation and action we're good right out of the box. As with most Ibanez products, the output jack needed replaced.
