Overview

Check out the Ibanez SGT520 SAGE SERIES Acoustic Guitar and you'll be amazed at the retro look and feel, inspired by the 1st Golden Age of Ibanez acoustic guitars. The shape of the headstock, body, pickguard and bridge recall a time when things were just a bit more ornate, and pride in craftsmanship was much easier to find.

The grand concert body shape is particularly well-suited for fingerpicking, but sounds great in any style.

I ordered this guitar some time ago and had to return it due to the body separating from the sides right below the heel. I though it was just a fluke, because this guitar gets consistent positive reviews. So I ordered another one. Guess what? One of the position markers had been inlaid so hard that it cracked the fretboard. There is a definite lack of quality control at the Ibanez factory. I returned this one, and I won't get another. Come on Ibanez, you can do better

1st acoustic and loving it!!

By Kirsten Peterson

Comments about Ibanez SGT110VS SAGE SERIES Acoustic Guitar:

I got this guitar as a birthday/christmas gift and i have enjoyed it for almost a year now. I only had to get the intonation adjusted a little bit then it was perfect. I have been working on playing Nothing Else Matters by Metallica here recently and i love the sound i get from the guitar. It sounds great, feels comfortable and looks gorgeous. I am in love with this guitar and it would be a great starter acoustic for anyone. :)

Amazing guitar

By Joshua Gillard

from Barstow, CA.

Comments about Ibanez SGT110VS SAGE SERIES Acoustic Guitar:

My first guitar was bought for me from my grandfather via infomercial. It was an esteban cheap-o guitar. I learned how to play through that, and after a year i decided it's time to move up. I searched high and low for a decent guitar for my style and something that fits me. I could NOT find anything under 200 that had a decent sound or fit. Then one of the employees pulled this one from the rack. He told me they JUST got it in THAT same day and i started to play it. The sunburst look caught my attention first. Then the pickguard. Then the headstock. I said to myself it HAD to be out of my price range, although when he checked the price... It was settled. I've been playing this guitar for about a year and a half now and i have to say it's Rad. Any style you want! from fingerplucking to slap guitar to shredding, doesn't matter. It's sound is beautiful. Very bright and warm for anybody to hear. Although, the only complaint i have about mine is that it has a "twangy" sound when you pluck the b string on the 7th fret and high e string on the 5th. but, don't let that discourage you, it's amazing. i would choose this over any yahama, martin, or fender that's under 200.

Great, but could be better.

By Razina

Comments about Ibanez SGT110VS SAGE SERIES Acoustic Guitar:

This is my first acoustic, ever. I bought this guitar about 2 weeks ago and I've been wanting an acoustic guitar for the longest time. The guitar has a nice body and nice feel. The sound is okay, I can expect better, though. But for a low price, it's a great beginner guitar. Nothing too pricey.

Just Buy It

By T. David

from Wisconsin

Comments about Ibanez SGT110VS SAGE SERIES Acoustic Guitar:

After lots of looking for my first acoustic guitar I jumped on the SGT110 when I spied a red sunburst factory second at a music store for under $150.00. But make no mistake, this guitar is still a heck of a deal at list price. FIT AND FINISH: Even though mine is a factory second the fit, finish, and details rival most of the entry level offerings I looked at from Yamaha and Epiphone. The retro look hooked me the second I saw it; to me it looks like a guitar ought to. SIZE; I was a bit concerned about the slightly reduced dimensions of the grand concert body causing it to sound weak like some of the "baby or travel" guitars I heard. But my fears were misplaced; this guitar plays clear, crisp, and plenty loud. It sounds like it should, a full size guitar. PLAYABILITY: First off I can't comment about one right out of the box. My guy at the music store set this thing up as part of the price because he threw in a hard body case at a nice discount; sometimes it pays to give the local guy your business. I thought this guitar would be great for me because I want to learn some finger picking. So far it delivers just fine. I would like to see the neck a bit wider to accomodate my over 40 year old fingers that are a bit fatter and less nimble than they used to be. But this is a minor, minor, obsrvation. The size is perfect. Compared to some dreadnoughts I feel like I am more wearing this thing than holding it. Bottom line. If you are in the market for a very nice guitar at a good price don't pass this one by without a serious look. It's a good deal and a gem to boot.

Winner

By John R. Potocar

from Thousand Oaks,Calif.

Comments about Ibanez SGT110VS SAGE SERIES Acoustic Guitar:

Ibanez really hit the mark with this guitar. The auditorium size body being smaller than a dreadnought is very comfortable and fun to play. You can sit in in your favorite easy chair, pick or strum to your hearts content and enjoy yourself. The sound is really different from a dreadnounght, aka Willie Nelson's Infamous "Trigger" (almost). Fit and finish is really exceptional. The tuners really hold. Keep the instruction book and the supplied allen wrench handy because your probably going to need it. The action on this guitar is very high. Do the usual, capo the first fret, press down on the 14th fret, at the seventh fret, sixth string(the biggest one) the measurement should be between 8 & 10 thousands of an inch.(a thin business card will work)instructions recommend 2-4mm. Make this adjustment slowly.or have someone qualified to do it for you, this minor adjustment will make this guitar much easier to play. This size guitar should be in everyones quiver, especially beginning players. All guitars come with little idiocyncrasies, this one is no exception. I chose the Sunburst rendering, because someone is going to have to take Willie Nelson"s place eventually.Fun guitar, great value from Guitar Center

Great Guitar, Should be priced way higher for the sound and quality!

By Ian Kay

from Gurnee, IL

Comments about Ibanez SGT110VS SAGE SERIES Acoustic Guitar:

At First I had bought the Ibanez SAGE 120NT, a DreadNought I loved it to death, but didn't want to give return it. The Dread Size was too big when ever I played standing up. So instead of leaving it in the box, I returned it, and looked at the Ibanez Sage SGT-110NT, and The Size, Shape, Finish, and EVERYTHING about it was a heck of alot better. I'm using this on my cd becuase of its great bright sound. I also thought the Grand Concert shape would be too quet, too small, and too tinny sounding. When I bought it, I knew I had chosen the best acoustic for the price. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND the Ibanez SAGE SGT-110NT!!

Smokin' Deal

By Dana McDonald

from Poca

Comments about Ibanez SGT110VS SAGE SERIES Acoustic Guitar:

I bought this guitar just because it looks so much like the Gibson Blues King and Robert Johnson guitars with its vintage vibe. I didn't expect much for the price and was pleasantly surprised by what I got! I put some vintage gold tuners with keystone butterscotch buttons, brass bridge pins and some Martin bronze strings on it and I was so pleased with it, I sprung for a Seymour Duncan Mag Mic pickup. With so little invested in the guitar, I didn't sweat the end pin drilling required. It's been a ball to dress this cool little guitar up. I've got more in the parts than in the guitar, but it turned out really nice. And guess what? It sounds good too!

Great Guitar for an entry level price

By Will

from Pittsburgh, PA

Comments about Ibanez SGT110VS SAGE SERIES Acoustic Guitar:

First thing to catch your eye is the finish, not just the beautiful starburst top, but the beautiful mahogany neck and back. My friends cant get enough of the finish. It has a very well defined sound and a very playable action. Didnt have to make any changes to it. It doesnt lose its tune at all. I frequently sit down for hour long sessions and dont have to touch the tuning for days. I would recomend this to anyone who wanted a affordable starting instrument. My friends who have been playing for years could not believe me when i told them what price i had purchased the guitar for. a definite A+
