The Ibanez S920 Electric Guitar is a sleek shredder with a smart combination of tonewoods, shape and hardware. The comfortably contoured African mahogany body is perfectly joined to a 5-piece maple and mahogany neck. The neck features the Wizard Premium design that has the same construction and thickness as the Wizard Prestige and is balanced for both comfort and speed. EMG 60 and 81 pickups provide plenty of balanced output. The S920 also features the Ibanez Zero Resistance and Zero Point System 3 tremolo system that permits extreme dive-bombing while returning all the strings back in tune, even if one breaks en route. A locking nut, cosmo black hardware and simplified controls (single volume and 3-way switch) complete this player's guitar.

Includes gig bag.

EMG 60 Pickup
The 60 packs plenty of output with a balance of tones that is classic-thick; boosted mids, big lows and fat highs. Featuring close aperture coils loaded with ceramic magnets, this model has rich tonal characteristics that gives full treble response for distinct single-note solos and buttery harmonic overtones to provide some serious meat to your playing. Traditionally used in the rhythm position for everything from clean bluesy tones to hard rocking crunchiness.

EMG 81 Pickup
One of the most popular EMG' the 81 is the one that started a revolution. Utilizing powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, the tone was designed with detailed intensity, incredible amounts of high end cut and fluid sustain. Traditionally used in the bridge position, this pickup will make your leads slice right through even the densest mix. When used in both neck and bridge positions the sound can only be described as blistering. Other recommended pairings include the versatile 81/60 combo.

Amazing craftmanship and balance

By Ken westin

from Portland, Oregon

I have been a fan of the S series guitars for a while now and was considering getting a 420, but saw the S920 at the Guitar Center near my house and tried it out. It sort of felt like the guitar chose me, it sort of just disappears in your hands. The body is beautifully crafted and although lightweight feels perfectly balanced. The neck is thin which took me a bit to get used to, this is my first "shredder" type guitar as my other guitars are Gibsons, but after a while I noticed that it was a lot easier to play than other guitars I am used to and am able to run hammer ons up the neck faster and cleaner, I am not sure if this is due to the hand rolled fret edges. I really like the simplicity of the three pickup selector and single tone nob. I always have the tone nobs on my guitar push all the way forward anyway, so I like the simplicity and cleanliness of the hardware on the guitar. If Porsche made a guitar this is what I would expect it to be like, focus on what the drive needs and remove everything else between him/her and the road and task at hand. The trem system is well thought out and engineered and keeps in tun really well. The one thing though is that due to the ball bearing you barely have put any force on the bar to bend it, which is kind of a weird feeling, but I am getting used to it and actually find myself using it more in my playing but subtly. The tone on the guitar is fantastic, the EMG pickups although typically a shredder metal pickup delivers a nice fat tone when using the neck pickup for leads. Then when you need to make it scream throw it into the bridge pickup. It can do clean of course, but that is really not what this guitar is designed for. I have it running through a Blackstar stack and it is amazingly quiet when not playing, a lot quieter than my other guitars with passive pickups, I am guessing that is something engineered into the EMG pickups, but it is almost like have an on-board noise gate. So far I really love this guitar and it is quite a shift from other guitars I have played. The staff at the Guitar Center said it looks like a spaceship and it does have a futuristic look to it, but is also very subtle, until you crank the volume and start ripping on it, it not just a guitar but a beautiful machine.
