Overview

The S521 Electric Guitar represents the cutting-edge of Ibanez design and continues to be a marvel of form and function. Its signature body shape is sculpted, lightweight mahogany that's stronger and more musically responsive than guitars weighing twice as much. Though no longer called by its original name, the Saber, the S series is still a rock or metal version of that quick, graceful and potentially lethal weapon. Its archtop body not only provides a warmer tone but contributes to picking hand support. Case sold separately.

Wizard III Maple neck
Ibanez's thin, flat, and fast, yet strong and sturdy, Wizard neck offers unlimited playability for demanding players, and features a two-octave 24-fret fret board for wide tonal range.

Quantum pickups
The Quantum pickups provide accelerated bass response for exceptionally fast tracking of high-speed staccato riffing with crushing mid range and precise high-end articulation.

Comments about Ibanez S Series Electric Guitar:

This is my 2nd guitar. My first is a Sanatoga Les Paul copy, so my reference point for comparing guitars probably isn't all that extensive. This is my first, 'expensive', guitar. So far I'm really liking it. Its slim design and light weight make it very comfortable to play/practice on. The neck feels good and the factory setup is good out of the box. Much better than my Sanatoga which I'm actually getting setup at this very moment. Its a little different at first having to reach a tad further for the lower frets due to the extra 2 on the fretboard, e.g. 24 frets instead of 22, but its not unplayable by any means. I like the slimmer feel of the neck. It makes playing chords, power chords, bar chords etc easier, at least for me. Good guitar for the $$$, even from a newbies point of view.

    Wait...what...Ibanez?

Comments about Ibanez S Series Electric Guitar:

A legit, beautiful, playable guitar-value for the money. It's a simple yet very attractive instrument that sits very comfortable in your lap or strapped around you shoulder because of the thin, light body. I think as I was strolling around GC, this guitar found me because I really hadn't considered an Ibanez. SURPRISE! I've never been savvy as far as the technical side of guitar specs and such, I only know that I like how it plays , sounds and looks, of course. I'm pretty certain you'd love this guitar, too but...get one of your own, I doubt you'll regret it!

Comments about Ibanez S Series Electric Guitar:

I am a 71 year old man and I have owned LP guitar, Fender and Ibanez. I came across this guitar and was immediately impressed by the sound that it produces, you can play real clean sounds for blues or you can play low tones like for 50/60 music. I really like the design fits like a glove in your hands and it is very lightweight, this is important for me because of my age and medical issues. I give this guitar 5 stars.

    My new favorite

Comments about Ibanez S Series Electric Guitar:

I recently purchased this little beauty at the local guitar center and fell in love. As the previous reviewer stated you really need to hold it to understand but the thin edges on the body are astounding the neck is somewhat thinner as well but still very sturdy. Honestly it makes my strat feel huge. very comfortable to use and great sound i can't recommend this enough.

If you are buying a guitar in this price range better check this one out.

Comments about Ibanez S Series Electric Guitar:

Simply put you have to play this guitar before you decide to buy anything else. There is nothing else out there that are like the s series guitars. The body is super thin. The body is almost a thick as a strat at the pickups but the body quickly contours to very thin at the edge and not just around the player but around the entire body, horns and everything else . It is very light but it still has a heavy sound. The pickups are good and get the job done nicely. bonus is the 5 way switch that gives it the option of single coil sounds. The neck is great all the way and down. I own several guitars in this price range, Esp, bc rich, epiphone, sgr's. When I picked this guitar up I knew I had to buy it. I do wish I would have spent a little more to get the Floyd rose model. just don't step down to the gs it is not the same body.
