Meet Ibanez' made-for-metal guitar series, Iron Label. Working from the chassis of their famous RG, Ibanez luthiers modded and tweaked with the heaviest of metal in mind. A classic in its own right, the RG series are cornerstone of the Ibanez legacy.

As the industry leader in 7 & 8-string production guitars, Ibanez is considered the premiere innovator of technology and development for down-tuned performance intstruments. This knowledge and experience has led to the creation of the RGIB6BK Baritone 6-string.

This creature of the deep features a Basswood body, bound rosewood fingerboard with Jumbo frets, Gibraltar Standard II bridge, and most importantly, a 28 scale Nitro Wizard Baritone neck for full, rich tone and solid intonation. Electronics include the EMG 60 pickup for a classic-thick, buttery tone, and the searing high end of an EMG 81 for fluid sustain and superior articulation. Comes factory tuned as B, F#, D, A, E, B with string gauges 14 to 46.

With a high gloss black finish and Cosmo Black hardware, this muscle guitar will add a new dimension of low-end sonic punch to any repitoire.

The best yet

Comments about Ibanez RGIB6 Iron Label RG Baritone Series Electric Guitar:

I have had this guitar for roughly 5.5 hours. This is my favorite guitar I have ever tried, and I have tried well over 100. It's lightweight, comfortable, comes ready to play, and feels great. The EMG pickups have a really tight low end and you can hear every note you play. The mute switch is fun to play with, and can be used to quickly silence the guitar if needed. This is a beautiful guitar, and I recommend it to anyone looking for some extra low end without the hassle of a 7-string.

Comments about Ibanez RGIB6 Iron Label RG Baritone Series Electric Guitar:

I record at home via a Line 6 POD UX2 interface. This baritone, along with another, standard-tuning Ibanez Iron Label, is my go-to axe. I write fast-paced, instrumental metal music, and the EMG 81/85 combo gives me a full, metallic sound with slightly scooped mids -- perfect for the style of music I'm playing. The extended scale means I can use slightly lighter strings than my previous baritone, which was a 26 1/2" scale. The tone, sustain, and raw power of this guitar is exceptional. There is no tone pot, only the main volume and a cutoff switch with a three-way selector for bridge/both/neck pickup settings. This arrangement is fine by me -- fact is, I pretty much always leave my guitars set to the bridge pickup with the volume and tone both maxed. The cutoff switch is nice, though I don't really use it at all, and is a solid, chunky piece with no wiggle.

Like all the Iron Label guitars, this one is clearly meant to be played through heavy distortion. That said, you can actually get a really good clean tone from it, too. You won't have the warmth of a Gibson Les Paul or anything like that, but put the switch in the middle position and twiddle with your amp a bit, maybe put up your reverb a touch, and you'll get a really great modern clean sound. It's definitely built with more modern styles in mind, though, so if you're looking for a nice baritone to fill in on your bluegrass or '70s country band, you should probably look elsewhere. This thing was made to break faces.

The other thing worth noting about it is, if you compare it to the regular Iron Label 6-stringer, the neck on the RGIB6 is a bit thicker. It feels in my hands more like a longer version of the '50s style Les Paul neck, if that helps you envision it at all.

Bottom line is, this guitar was perfect for me, and if you're looking to crush skulls, it's probably what you're looking for, too.
