With the growing popularity of the Iron Label series, Ibanez continues to tap the seismic underworld for inspiration. Working their famous RGD body shape from the “chassis” up, the RGDIX6PB is a stunning creation of unique beauty that adds a new dimension to the brand’s no-frills “made-for-metal” lineup. This striking 6-string electric brings a unique new air of exotic elegance to the Iron Label series.
The guitar’s asymmetric, Poplar Burl top creates a sense of depth, motion and beauty reminiscent of the black, dark galaxy. Pitted against a layered Ash and Mahogany body, these woods combine to create a bright, warm, almost otherworldly color scheme. Working from the philosophy that playing comfort translates into speed and articulation, the RGDIX6PB features an Ebony fretboard mounted on a 26.5 in. scale 3-piece Maple Bubinga Nitro Wizard neck that both enhances playing agility and optimizes tonal clarity.
The acclaimed Ibanez Gibraltar Standard II bridge improves sustain and provides faultless intonation. Specifically developed for this guitar through close collaboration between Ibanez and DiMarzio—Fusion Edge pickups have been engineered to produce a powerful, distinctive tone with crisp, cutting, high end, and a tight, compressed bottom end, minus any muddy mid range. Ready for metal, the RGDIX6PB ships from Ibanez, tuned down a full step.
The RGDIX6PB presents yet another reason why the Ibanez Iron Label series is winning over new die-hard converts every day. Case sold separately.

Comments about Ibanez RGD Iron Label RGDIX6PB Electric Guitar:
This guitar is an absolute BEAST. I wanted a second guitar to use for low-tuned metal, D standard down to drop A#. Perfection right here. The 26.5" scale is just right for handling the range of tunings I use it for. I bought the floor model, so a bit of truss rod and intonation adjustment was required, but that was an easy process so I'm not complaining. I also swapped out the 10-46 strings for 10-52, (which I would recommend doing if you want a bit more beef on the bass end), and the guitar handles the heavier low strings incredibly well. The neck is so smooth and I love the ebony fretboard, it really enhances the feel and sound quality. I kid you not, the neck and fretboard actually enhances my playing agility, and makes challenging songs a delight to practice. The body shape maximizes playing comfort, and the weight is well balanced while standing. Don't even get me started on the Dimarzio Fusion Edge pickups... I'm a huge fan of the tones they produce, nice and punchy with lots of body, clarity, and definition, with no muddiness to speak of. On a clean channel they sound gorgeous as well. I never use tone knobs anyway, so I'm also quite pleased with the minimal volume/pickup selector set-up. Rolling down the volume knob cleans up distorted sounds nicely, and adds to the tonal possibilities. On top of all that, the entire guitar from strap button to head stock is RESONANT LIKE WHOA.
I play guitar at home and jam with my brother and friends, but I can tell that this axe is road-worthy, because it feels like such a tank and flaunts looks that could kill. If you like it down low, buy this guitar for all that sweet nasty music! I guarantee you will have a hard time putting it down.
Thank you Ibanez, you hit the spot with this Iron Label axe! Thank you GC for your excellent customer service!
P.S. Ibanez could have gotten away with selling this guitar for way more than they do, but I'm certainly glad that they don't!
