Overview

The Ibanez RGA42FM electric guitar features an archtop mahogany body for tonal warmth and robust sustain. It's topped with a beautiful flamed maple veneer and sports black chrome hardware. A 3-piece maple neck has the Ibanez Wizard II profile for fast and effortless shredding. The Ibanez guitar is equipped with fat and strong active Ibanez LoZ3 humbucker pickups and uses an Active EQ circuit with simple-to-operate on-off switch to provide pure tone free of noise. These active pickups have a high-output fat sound, yet are tweaked to produce a balanced clean sound. The Gibraltar Standard fixed bridge offers smooth playing comfort and maximum vibration transfer with increased stability and sustain.

For two decades, the legion of Ibanez RG warriors has grown like a virus, thrusting the RG guitar to the head of the metal pack. The Ibanez RG's fast, flat necks, rabid pickups, and double-locking tremolos deliver demonically charged sounds that go far beyond the world of mere mortals.

Simply Amazing

By guy

from cedarburg wi

WOW! I have been searching for "the" guitar for years now and I finally found it, not for $2000 dollars but for this price. This guitar is outstanding. I was blown away by the wizard 3 neck and the sustain on this guitar. It can hold a note along side my 7 string jeff loomis schecter. The red finish with the binding is beautiful, the pictures do not do this guitar justice. I was planning on replacing the pickups with emgs but still debating. The stock pickups are very good. Do not look further for a 24 fret hardtail. Buy it now! You will not regret it.

New shred guitar

By greaserguy

from Escondido, CA

Well first off let me start by saying that the red finish is amazing! Out of the rest of the people i know that play guitar, just about none of them know anything about woods or pickups. Since mahogany is such a dark sounding wood, it needs something to combat it, and these pickups do just that. They have goo mid range and good highs, but that mahogany keeps it with good lows, so this thing is tight in every aspect. The eq switch is kinda cool, i like it to switch from rhythms to leads, although i will say that when the eq switch is off it gets a little muddy. The neck is great, and very fast so it is a great metal guitar. The tuners work great, i havent gone out of tune once yet. The string through body makes this thing give a lot of sustain with is great for blues or old classic rock for some mellow solos. Great guitar and the price is perfect

my favorite guitar

By Ben

from RoLLA mO

This is by far my favorite. If you want a good guitar for metal with a good price pick this. The active pickups sound great with my hardwire metal distortion pedal. the wood grain on the front is a vinear not a sticker like some. the ultra thin wizzard II neck helps me alot because i have small hands.

Great Guitar

By William

from Youngstown, OH

Got this guitar at the local shop. Plugged it into my Line 6 spider and it sounded great. It took less than a minute to tune and hasnt dropped out of tune yet. It had incredible sustain. It can play nice and clean or thick and heavy. Good for beginners epesecially, but this won't upset expreienced players either.

Ibanez does it again!!!!!!

By Ibanezman007

from Placerville CA

I just got this guitar today for my birthday and it is the greatest guitar with no tremolo that I have ever played! I love just how thin the Wizard II neck feels. Even if you have small hands you can shred on this thing! I also love just how great it sounds through my Marshall 30FX. It sounds really cool if you turn up the Reverb and put some meduim flanger on.
