This RG Premium electric guitar, the RG920QMZ, stands astride quality and affordability with a foot (bout?) planted firmly in each camp by providing a combination of moderate price, superior quality, pro features, and excellent feel and finish. The RG Premium has an American basswood center and a quilted maple top while the Wizard Premium neck is given the Premium fret edge treatment for a fast, smooth feel. USA-made DiMarzio/Ibanez humbuckers provide volcanic toneage worthy of Krakatoa and Vesuvius. The Edge Zero II bridge with the ZPS3Fe spring system returns you to "zero" ” center point ” after each use of the tremolo arm that allows radical tremolo effects with flawless tuning accuracy.
Basswood is a comparatively lightweight wood, which makes it very comfortable for extended playing. With a good balance of highs and lows, basswood is right in between alder and mahogany in sound character.
Includes gig bag.

Ibanez RG920QMZ Premium Electric Guitar(High Voltage Violet) Well the wife gave me the go ahead to buy a new axe and I showed her a pic of the High Voltage Violet and I think she was more excited than I was. I've had this baby for a little under a month now and I have been playing the snot of it - still has 9's and hasn't really beeen set up yet. I have to say this is really an AWESOME axe. I have quite a few Ibanez gems (no pun intended - ok I lied :-)) and after the initial trial, it's becoming one of my favoites. Right out of the box - before my normal tweaks - it plays/feels & sounds incredible!! You get a chance to pic one of these up don't hesitate just do it. You will not be sorry.
Ok, this review is only for playing metal or other heavy music. I can't imagine anyone would look at this guitar to play blues or any clean guitar- there are much better choices than this for those styles. That being said, this guitar can sound perfectly fine when you do need to clean it up. I got a cobalt blue one, and it looks fantastic. I have an S5470 prestige and while its not quite in the same league as that guitar, it definitely is in the same league as the RG3550 prestige that is 700-800 more. Ok, yes the neck is not quite the same as a prestige neck, but I found for chunky rhythm playing that the slightly thicker neck works really well on the RG body. The fit and finish are flawless, and while it is a veneer quilt top, it looks great. The pickups are perfectly fine- only a slight loss of output compared to my dimebucker equipped s5470 prestige. Disregarding the price this is an awesome guitar for heavy styles, and when you factor in price it might be one of the best values out there. It honestly beats my esp horizon II, MIJ first edition RG, and any usa schecter or jackson I've played. I would put it at a tie with the RG 3550 prestige. If you want a better ibanez rg you're gonna have to buy the $3500 j-custom. Try one out, I'm sure you'll agree if you play metal.
I just bought this guitar and it is my first Ibanez product. The workmanship is outstanding, better than any guitar I have seen at three times the price. The wood top is almost perfectly book matched. The attention to detail in the fret dressing is the best that I have seen. The action, whammy bar are perfect. What is amazing is the five pickup combinations. I have not experienced sounds like this from any electric. It makes playing a lot of fun as you can come up with some wild sounds. Study the neck and fretboard closely, it is amazing what they did. I'm not going to tell you, just go into the store and look! I know that this is a rock machine, but I could not be happier. I am 61 years old and it is a great product for all ages and styles.
If your reading these reviews by now your head is probably spinning on all the selections of guitars there are to choose from From the s series Rg series to the x series and on and on when i decided to purchase the RG920qm it was well over what i wanted to spend but let me tell you the quality of this instrument is absolutely incredable and i dont regret it for a second I love this guitar it plays so easily with its 15x3/4 inch radius this is a very fast neck and it looks so awsome and sounds great with the 5 position switch you get a very good variation and control over the tone if you decide to buy this guitar you wont regret it and you will most likley fall in love with as i did oh yea forgot to mention that the tremolo system is outstanding if anyone says otherwise they are wrong i have been dooin bomb dives and lizard tails for two weeks and this guitar hasnt gone out of tune yet trem systems have come a long way since the old days thats for sure ...Rock On
