I'm surprised that nobody else has reviewed this little gem. I tried this out in-store before buying, and the pickups are highly responsive and punchy. The 5-way switch is what makes this guitar so versatile and fun to use. The neck is thin and feels super smooth. The dotted inlays are pushed to the edge of the frets which gives it a slick, professional look. The natural wood color is what caught my eye, it really stands out in the crowd. All in all, a well rounded guitar for the price. Everyone should at least have 1 in their collection.

I've read some reviews on this guitar and they are not misleading. The electronics in this guitar coming straight out of the box real lacked luster. Don't give up though this guitar has great potential if you can drop a little extra money into it and mod it out. The wizard neck that comes on this and RG models is, well, amazing. The tuners are good and the body on this guitar is very sound as well.

I bought this guitar about 6 months ago with the whole intention to customize it and I am really impressed. I put EMG 85/81 pickups in mine and changed the pots to dual concentric/stacked pots (to control tone/volume on both pickups) and turned it into what would closely resemble a higher end RG for about $200 less than actually shelling out for the out of box higher end. This guitar is well worth the price. It's a great beginner model and with a few customizations can suit your needs.

Bottom line, get this for someone who's starting or has had some experience. If they hold onto it long enough to put some tweaks into it they will forever fall in love with this guitar.

Okay, to be honest, this is a pretty decent guitar. It sounds good, and I love the 5-way selector Ibanez use. It also looks nice, but it could be better, and I'll get into that now.

Comments about Ibanez RG6003FM Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar a few months ago and can't get enough of it. It's excellent for a beginner who's been practicing for a long bit and looking to take a next step. It's real fun to play around with and solid for practice. Quite a bit of fret buzz from the store but fixed when restrung. Pickup switch is quite delicate, mine never has picked up the neck pickup well.

If you are young and want to be proud and continue to learn, this is it.

I walked into Guitar center without the intention on buying anything. I was with my buddy and we split up. I found him playing on the Blue flamed maple top version of this guitar and was amazed at the price point and the tone. I went to ask a store manager if they had another 1 of the same guitar and saw that they had this black flamed top hanging up.. so my friend and i both bought 1. he got the blue and i got the grey/black. I love it, great playability, decent high output pickups and a very pretty look too it. I like this guitar alot for the price point.

Comments about Ibanez RG6003FM Electric Guitar:

Bought this and it's held up pretty well for the most part. The neck and body are sturdy, but the pickups were sort of loose and the top one didn't work very well, the back one was great though. Also the input jack on the guitar broke the other day. It didn't shatter or anything, but two of the rings that held it in place and the actual jack fell off (more like inside the guitar). I had to use tweesers and a pencil covered in tape to get it back in position. It was a pretty easy fix, but it was an unsettling issue. It's a good guitar with a good sound, but it needs to be handled pretty carefully and some repairs should probably be made if you want to use it professionally. It's a good guitar for the price you're going to pay, but wait until it's on sale or you have a coupon.

Comments about Ibanez RG6003FM Electric Guitar:

I saw an Ibanez RG on sale at my local GC and went in for a try. I did not expect the guitar to feel so well made and for it to sound so well. The neck is very comfortable and flat, and the thing is around like 5 lbs, making it easy to walk with. Has strat like qualities with that thick humbucker tone. I recommend this guitar to any experienced player or beginner. This gitar also sounds great with a delay pedal :) The pickups could use some work however, but it is still a good guitar.
