Overview

The Ibanez RG3EXQM1 electric guitar's humbucker pickups and pickup placement provide the hard-edged cutting tone needed for heavy rock.

Since 1987, many players have selected the Ibanez RG as their weapon of choice for visiting sonic mayhem on the metal masses. With the right choice of pickups plus flat and fast necks, the RG has crunched its way to classic status. To the RG's lethal combination of features, RG Prestige models add the comfortable, rounded feel of Prestige neck finishing, drop-dead good looks and great electronics and hardware.

24 jumbo frets offer easy playing for leads and chording, and a fixed bridge design offers thru-body stringing for stronger tone and sustain. Features 2 EMG-designed humbuckers and a bolt-on 3-piece maple neck with a headstock to match the body. The quilted maple top and shark tooth inlays on a 25-1/2"-scale rosewood fingerboard give it a striking both sweet and dangerous look. 24 jumbo frets deliver insane playability for riffers and shredders alike.

Can't beat the price for a guitar that looks and sounds like this one. Only negatives are the neck and headstock binding are painted and not real and the tuners don't feel as secure as my Jackson did. But, when you plug this thing up into a Vox AD30VT amp it screams and growls with rich tone and SUSTAIN that doesn't quit.I researched for a long time before buying and this one kept coming back to me. If you are unsure about which guitar you want, go give this one a play...you will walk out of the store with one like I did. And it looks HOT.

My absolute favorite guitar

By That one dude

Comments about Ibanez RG3EXQM1 Quilted Maple Top Electric Guitar:

I think it was in September or October of last year when i went in to guitar center and found this guitar. I had gone in there initially to try out some of the different Ibanez's just to see how they felt and sounded. I hadn't, up until then, played any Ibanez's except for a 7-string GAX and a 7-String Rg since i had been looking for a Seven String about a year ago. I went in and it immediately caught my eyes. This guitar is simply beautiful and it sounds like a beast. I plugged it in to one of the Crate Amps in the back of the store and just started shredding. I played all things ranging from slayer to hendrix and this guitar sounded amazing. The EMG active pick-ups are great. I now no longer need to have my amps distortion on to have the nice sustain and tone-wise, it is everything i could have hoped for. It's a very simple and straight forward instrument; fixed bridge, baritone neck, a volume and a tone knob. I reccomend this instrument to pretty much any guitarist who wants a quality instrument. Ibanez now owns my soul

Fast And Affordable

Comments about Ibanez RG3EXQM1 Quilted Maple Top Electric Guitar:

I got an Epi Les Paul a while ago, and after screwing it up thoroughly I returned it and reluctantly got a blue one of these. I'll get right to it: this thing kicks butt compared to it. The action is awesome and the pickups are good quality for the money. And the looks: let's just say I've caught a lot of people staring at it when I get it out. The only downside is there's a considerable amount of string buzz on mine, but you get that on most 3-400 dollar guitars anyway. It doesn't really go out of tune, either, and that's nice for playing live shows. If you get one, I promise you won't stop playing it for a long long time.

great guitar for the money

Comments about Ibanez RG3EXQM1 Quilted Maple Top Electric Guitar:

This guitar is awesome! I first heard about it from a friend then went to the store to check it out. I played this and a 500 dollar Schector. The Schector wasn't even close to the awesome sound I got with this. After time you will see hairline fractures on the neck though but it doesn't affect your playing and you'll only notice them when your staring right at one.

I got this about 2 months ago and so far I haven't had a problem with it and i play alot of shred/speed metal and I think the EMG pickups are still sounding great but.. sad to say that im getting a new brigde so i can add a tremolo bar but other than that every thing is working as I bought it yesterday.

good, but could be better.

Comments about Ibanez RG3EXQM1 Quilted Maple Top Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar just a few months back and i love it. The pickups are great and sound almost just like EMG's. The neck is smooth and fast and the action is perfect. the only gripe i have is that the input jack has recently been giving me some trouble. i expected better quality from Ibanez really. none of my other instruments (3 other guitars and basses) have ever had this problem. overall this guitar is great but may need a little maintenance.

Comments about Ibanez RG3EXQM1 Quilted Maple Top Electric Guitar:

I played this guitar for 2 hours before buying it. I needed a new electric and im real big on bargins. This guitar was smooth and clean without gain and sounds very good. But once i turned that crunch on it ripped through riffs like no other. The high strings dont sting, they ring with great tone, and the lows come out great with awesome sustinence growl. Great guitar for a good price

Face Melting tone

By IkHyun-Choe

from Monticello, Iowa

Comments about Ibanez RG3EXQM1 Quilted Maple Top Electric Guitar:

I bought this for the amazing tone of EMG designed pickups mixed with the Ibanez Wizard 2 Neck. I have to say it was the best decision I have ever made. The tone is amazing for passive pickups and the neck is amazingly fast. My old PRS has nothing on this. The tone multiplied the sound i got out of my amp and it cuts through in any band situation. Make my Crate GT1200 sound amazing.

Ibanez RG3EXQM1

By Mr. Ibanez

Comments about Ibanez RG3EXQM1 Quilted Maple Top Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar a couple months ago and its pretty sweet. Its very easy to play chords, a huge improvement over my Squire Strat. The finish on this guitar is a beauty. I can get a crunchy tone with the pickup selector, but i can also get a very bluesy, mellow tone. I'm very happy with my decision to get this guitar instead of a Schecter or some other cheaper guitar.

Super guitar for little money

By Dave Peterson

from Lexington, KY

Comments about Ibanez RG3EXQM1 Quilted Maple Top Electric Guitar:

I recently purchased the Ibanez RG3EXQM through Guitar Center and am extremely happy with the guitar. I bought it as a backup for my beloved Parker Fly Deluxe and am blown away with the remarkable quality and playability- especially considering the low cost. Fit and finish are really good. Sound is pretty good too for stock pickups. This guitar feautures a beautiful REAL maple top- amazing for the price. Of course the finish is not as flawless as my Parker, but the guitar costs WAY less! After adjusting the intonation and action, the guitar plays every bit as well as my Parker. It was set up decently out of the box, but with a little work it is now perfect. Simple design, great sound, low cost, built to last. What more can you ask for? I play mainly fusion, funk, and shred- this is perfect.
