Overview

The Ibanez RG370DX electric guitar's pickups and pickup placement provide the hard-edged cutting tone needed for heavy rock.

Since 1987, many players have selected the Ibanez RG as their weapon of choice for visiting sonic mayhem on the metal masses. With the right choice of pickups and flat, fast necks, the RG has crunched its way to classic status.

As heavy as it rocks, the RG370DX guitar is made of basswood, a comparatively lightweight wood, which makes it very comfortable for extended playing. With a good balance of highs and lows, basswood is right in between alder and mahogany in sound character. 24 jumbo frets offer easy playing for leads and chording and the Edge II tremolo bridge lets you dive bomb all night long.

Well since I got guitar I have owned it for a year. Si I am mainly writing for left-handed players. As you all know lefties don't have much of a choice in guitars. I have owned most all models but I do have to say this Ibanez rocks it feels very comfortable and the tone is very warm and this guitar can rock with most sickest metal out there. I mainly play groove and industrail metal and it does the job well for all kinds of genre in music. So if your left handed I recommend this guitar it plays fast the neck is fast and the body is light weight. The only thing I would change is the Tremolo and Pick ups one Ibanez's faults there Pick ups suck. But other than that it is a great guitar hopefully in the Future we Left handers will have more choices out there until then IBANEZ is where its at ROCK ON SOUTH PAWS!!!

If you are buying this guitar with idea of replacing the pickups or you don't care about sound quality (yea right), than you will be happy. You will probably need to do a set up to dial in the intonation, lessen the buzz or fit your particular style. I don't think the Edge III tremolo is a right from the box, factory set-up, plug and play bridge. Other than that, I will say the the guitar has a great look and feel.

Words cnt describe!

Comments about Ibanez RG370DX Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar about a year ago now, and I don't have one problem with it! As soon as i got it i set it up as is do with all of my guitars. It's even better because you can have super low action on it without getting any buzz at all! The edge III Bridge is awesome, it stays in tune all the time, and im one to pound the bar! Its also really nice for all styles, I'm a blues player, but i wanted something not everybody had, so i play a couple of these bad boys through Fender amps. And if you switch the neck pickup on alone, you get this humid, SRV kind of sound out of it! and on clean.

BUY THIS GUITAR!

By Brenden Duoto

Comments about Ibanez RG370DX Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar with the limited edition digital camo finish, and not only does it look killer like it does with all of the finishes, but it screams! And im a huge fan of floating tremolos in general, so I pound the bar when im playing rock, and i havent had any problems with the bar or the bridge in the whole time ive owned it, which has been a good amount of time. And it stays in tune forever! And alot of times i play blues, like SRV/B.B. King kind of stuff most of the time, and you dont even need a pedal for that tone with this guitar! all you have to do it switch to the neck pickup! over all this is an amazing deal on a fabulous axe.

honestly i love ibanez. i bought my self this exact guitar for my birthday a year ago. the sound and tone are amazing. the neck is amazingly fast. my lead guitarist loves it and if he gets a hold of it, wont put it down or give it back. changed out the passive pickups with some emg 81 and 85 active humbuckers and an active emg x in between them. i love this guitar

Comments about Ibanez RG370DX Electric Guitar:

when i first got this guitar i knew nothing about it i just wanted it....after i got it i played it and loved it to death. great guitar...great sounding and easy to play...didnt take long till i snapped a string tho...my high E would always go flat while using the tremolo to the point where i couldnt fine tune any more and i had to take off the lock nuts...i was also dissapointed with the tremolo....to tighten the tremolo you have to dive bomb basically and look behind the tremolo and there will be a allen screw there....also my pickup jack will not stay in everytime i use it i have problems with it...it always comes out but nothing a little lock tight cant fix..would i recommend this guitar? if you fix it up the right way YES I DO RECCOMEND IT!

BEST GUITAR EVER

By Mark

from NJ

Comments about Ibanez RG370DX Electric Guitar:

This guitar sounds amazing. It's tone, it's feel, just everything. The pickups are amazing. The body is a normal strat body but is still awesome. The tremolo works wonders. If you hold it down until the string are completely free it bounces right back to the tuned amazing guitar. It's neck is so comfortable in your hands and will easily let you shred. I have on this since Christmas of 2010 and i still have no complaints what so ever. It is built so well. Ibanez gets a thumbs up on this one. It was a lot better than I had ever expected. BUY THIS GUITAR. DONT HAVE SECOND THOUGHTS. This is the guitar you need.

Perfect For The Price

By John

from Little Rock, AR

Comments about Ibanez RG370DX Electric Guitar:

i've owned this guitar for a little more than a year now. I bought mine used for about 140 dollars. Helluva deal. it was a 2006 model. It came in pretty good condition. However, the thing that irked me was that the middle pickup's polepieces at the 2 bass strings (E and A) got pushed up significantly when the previous owner tried to lower the pickup and it hit a screw for a groundwire. the more he lowered the pickup, the more the screws went up. Needless to say many picks were destroyed because of this... Anyway... The guitar as a whole looks absolutely killer. all black hardware, sharktooth inlays, you can read the guitar's description to know about that. The Edge III tremolo performed well for a long time... however the knife edges went dull when i adjusted the guitar's action improperly. i took it into my luthier and he sharpened them and replaced the posts, which were also torn up. i put chapstick on the contact points from now on and that solved the problem. the trem arm is a pain, though... it's not very responsive, and wiggles out quickly, even when i adjust the arm torque. I would suggest taking that screw out and putting lock-tite on it so it won't wiggle out of adjustment. that was my major complaint about the trem. The pickups that come on the guitar are very decent, especially for the price. The bridge pickup is beefy and hot, and has a nice scooped tone. the neck pickup is fat and midrangey, and the single-coil cleans things up nicely. but i went ahead and replaced them with EMGs just because i got them for christmas presents. If i had the choice to do so again, i don't think i would. Also, most recently, i've replaced the Edge III tremolo with a Schaller Floyd Rose. excellent tremolo as well, but then again, if i had the choice again, i wouldn't do so. i would rather sell this guitar and buy a Prestige model with DiMarzio pickups and an Edge Zero tremolo. but i'm rambling here... the neck has a VERY nice profile to it. very thin, flat on the back, and a decently flat fingerboard (i've seen better fingerboards, but this one is perfect for what it is, which is a 400 dollar guitar). the nice thing about buying a rosewood fingerboard used is, the previous player has already warn in the fingerboard so it is nice and smooth :). the fret job is decent, the frets don't cut you, and they seem to hold up to my abuse well. however, there is one factory problem with my fretboard... on the side of the wound strings, on the last 5 or so frets, the wires peak higher than all the others, which requires a very high action on the low-end. It's not too much of a problem, but it is very annoying if you like playing at the higher frets on the lower strings, for sweep picking and such. I'm going to have my luthier fix this soon, but keep in mind, the Indonesian guys are good, but can make some mistakes. This is an example of one. The tuners that come on the guitar are good, but i replaced them with Sperzels cause i'm lazy and like the easy string changes. The toggle switch on the guitar is ok, but i replaced it as well, cause the stock toggle switch was a problem when i was installing the EMGs. so yeah that's really about it. It plays great and sounds great from the factory, especially for the price. obviously i've replaced almost all of the hardware and all of the electronics on mine by now... it has become Victor Frankenstein's RG... lol. if i had the choice to do so again, though, i wouldn't do it. the guitar is fine the way it is. If i want something better, I should have sold it for a Prestige. but i can't back out of it now. but, i am very happy with the guitar the way it is and i don't plan on selling it. It feels, plays, and sounds absolutely perfect for me (or at least it will when i get the frets re-crowned... refer to what i said about the fret job). the stock guitar, I would recommend to anyone who wants a killer looking and sounding rock and metal axe. it can easily do both with its versatile pickup combination. don't think this one's much for death metal though... i don't think it would handle the thicker strings and lower tunings very well. the pickups would probably sound muddy with anything below Drop C. by the way... if you're going to get a guitar with a double-locking tremolo, it is almost essential, that you buy yourself a Tremol-no. that is a miracle product, trust me. google it, if you don't know what it is.

Solid Five Stars!

Comments about Ibanez RG370DX Electric Guitar:

I haven't had a whammy bar since my first Fender, and let me tell you, it's good to be back in business. I sold my Fender and picked up an Epiphone Les Paul which is fun, except for it's not much of a metal guitar. Luckily, I looked into Ibanez guitars and found this beast. The Edge III tremolo is just as good as a Floyd Rose and no matter how abusive I am, it won't go out of tune. Sounds great with or without distortion, and has a great twangy metallic sound when unplugged. Not only does this guitar look great, but it's very smooth and VERY hard to put down. Not too expensive, and worth every penny. It's a great guitar that I would recommend to anyone. If you're looking for complaints, search for a different guitar.

Amazing

Comments about Ibanez RG370DX Electric Guitar:

I just got my guitar today. I have to say this was everything I wanted and more! I can just spend hours playing with the tremolo! I only spent like 5 minutes getting used to the tuning and so far it has stayed in tune. It sounds like a beast! I almost got an Epiphone Les Paul but I'm thankful i didn't. I got this guitar in white it is amazing. I would recommend it for anyone and everyone. :D
