The RG1550M guitar features sonically lethal DiMarzio IBZ Pickups and the advaned Ibanez Edge Pro tremolo system. This Ibanez guitar is a metalhead's dream come true. Ibanez includes a deluxe Prestige hardshell case with the left-handed RG1550M guitar.

The Ibanez Edge-PRO bridge
In the last 2 decades, no other guitar maker besides Ibanez has done so much to advance the art and science of the tremolo. The Edge-PRO trem represents the next phase in locking tremolos. To avoid the problem of string holder blocks getting lost during string changes, the Edge-PRO's sliding string holders are actually part of the bridge and won't drop from the saddle unit. With the Edge-PRO design, there's no need to cut off the ball end of your strings when installing new strings. The Edge-PRO features a unique Sound Metal Chip on each saddle which helps increase sustain right at the most critical area, the intonation point.

Dimarzio IBZ Pickups
¢Bridge: VINTAGE 8” Warm yet articulate lead pickup with enhanced overtones. Good harmonics without excessive brightness.
¢Middle: SINGLE 1”Traditional-sounding yet high output single coil with Alnico-5 polepieces for even string output. Designed to work with humbuckers in the split position.
¢Neck: VINTAGE 7”Tight, but bright. Very dynamic for chording and rhythm.

Comments about Ibanez RG1550M Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

It's a real nice looking guitar with a great tremolo. It plays really good and is great for leads and hard rock. They just need to improve quality, and put in better pickups for the price. If not, then lower the price.
Great tremolo system. Able to adjust trem bar postion and spring tension easily with dial on back of guitar. Pickups are good but I might replace bridge pickup down the road. Came with a really nice guitar case that form fits the guitar.
The neck is supposedly made by the finest luthiers in Japan. Well, they need better training. The neck looked fine until I gave a close look at it. I could see a small amount of glue coming out from almost halve the frets. It wasnt alot but enough to bother me. I had to take a fine toothpick and remove the glue. Then when I went to play it, the entire neck had sharp edges where the frets ended on both sides of guitar. I ended up sanding them down with a real fine sandpaper and it's better now, but not perfect.
Also the tone knob, turned all the way up would cut off the entire volume of guitar. I removed it a couple of times and eventually stopped cutting off.
Definately not worth $$$$. At least in my opinion. This should go for much less.

Great lefty guitar?

Comments about Ibanez RG1550M Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

For years I've been trying to get a great sounding guitar that not only looks like a great metal guitar, but one that really sounds like one. So of course I started looking at Ibanez guitars. I was shocked to see the small amount of lefty guitars in stock, but this one caught my eye. Once I saw the tremelo system it has, I knew this would be great. And with the locking nut, I rarely have to tune it, even during road trips! The only problem I come across is drop tuning, but I recently solved that by getting a Morpheus Drop Tune. Another thing is the DiMarzio pickups weren't as great sound quality, so I decided to get EMGX 81/85 active pickups. Having those in this guitar sounds spectacular. And it also comes with a great case too, so you don't have to go searching for one that fits this guitar! Another great thing is my students love my new guitar too! They say my sound is A LOT better than my Strat, and they really like the look! Of course I still have it for Jazz, but you can still get the great Jazz sound from this too! So if your a lefty that needs a great guitar for under 1500 bucks, this is the one to buy!
