This guitar is okay. The neck is awesome, and the pickups are good. But whenever i play the third string ninth fret, the thing buzz's more than a bee. And one of the screws on the tremlo system came loose and when i tryed to tighten it, it striped. i like how thin the neck is though. stays in tune okay.

My first guitar

By DirtyWizard

from nebraska

Comments about Ibanez RG120 Electric Guitar:

When i started playing guitar, i was immediatly fascninated with amazing players like satriani and vai, who both play ibanez model guitars. I fell in love with the look of the rg series, and decided that i would get a low end rg as my first guitar. I dont really have anything to compare it to, since i have not played a better guitar, but i dont have any complaints. The guitar is comfortable, easy to handle, and for having a tremolo, it stays in tune well, although my biggest complaint with the guitar is the time it takes to properly set up alternate tunings. THe tremolo is designed to be in standard e, and it is hard to get it to stay in anything else. Even flatting a half step took about 20 minutes to get all the strings in tune. All in all, it is a good learning guitar, i have not had any hardware difficulties or anything. a well put together guitar

good guitar for the price

By Chris

from St. Peters, MO

Comments about Ibanez RG120 Electric Guitar:

For the price this guitar is good, and also for beginners. The pick ups are alright and i like the neck a lot, I've played on a friends $500 fender and i couldn't play near as good as i could with this guitar, it was all in the fenders neck and strings felt weird. It also gets a pretty good distortion sound if you use pedals. Over all its above average for its price.

Great Starter

By BadgerKing

from Chicagoland, IL

Comments about Ibanez RG120 Electric Guitar:

I am a starting musician. I've been playing elictric guitars for a half year now and played acoustic for a year. I tried many electrics and felt perfect with this RG. It doesn't have tons of features (just volume, tone, and a three way switcher) but it gets the job done. It's light weight easy to pick up and play. The price is excellent! You can't get much better than this for 200 bucks.

i love this guitar

By trevor t.

from groton, ct

Comments about Ibanez RG120 Electric Guitar:

this guitar is probably one of the best i have out of 8 guitars. i think that this is not only a great starter guitar, but a great over-all guitar too. it's great for any type of music. i might reccomend the zakk wylde icon series strings by dunlop as the ultimate combination. as a metal guitarist, i like to move fast, and this guitar is the ultimate for it. even though it was made as a starter guitar, its great for all skill levels.i would reccomend this to anyone who wants a great sound, or is just starting to learn how to play.

Excellent

By daryle

from OKC,OK

Comments about Ibanez RG120 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is great. Easy action. Sounds great. So far, the best guitar I've owend. A prevoius review mentioned things falling off the guitar. Thus far, I haven't had that problem. Sounds like the guy is just hard on guitars. For the price, this is a great starter, or if you're on a budget. I've been playing for 15 years and this is the best guitar I've owned. Budget or not. Haven't tried the tremelo yet. I'm not much of a tremelo player, but so far it stays in tune just fine.

This Guitar Is Awesome

By Frank M

from New York

Comments about Ibanez RG120 Electric Guitar:

Man I have owned more expensive Steinbergers, Burns, Fenders, and this RG120 sounds better and plays better I swear by my soul !! The fretboard is a real guitar players fretboard. For the money I would take two though I am low on the dough...It would be an insult to call this a "starter guitar" I am an old pro and now this is my main axe !!

Ibanez challenges top-names!

By Nick

from Stafford, VA.

Comments about Ibanez RG120 Electric Guitar:

I was at Guitar Center yesterday, just testing different guitars, when the salesman recommended this. I picked it up, plugged it into a Spider Valve, and Experimented with the Hi-Gain channel. Wow! I was testing Epiphone SGs to Schecter Damiens, and this beat them all! If you're a beginning guitarist, or even a pro, you will love this guitar.
