Overview

The Ibanez RG120MG electric guitar has a thin 3-piece maple neck with the fast Wizard II profile for fast and effortless shredding, a rosewood fretboard dressed with 24 jumbo frets, and a lightweight solid agathis body. An Ibanez FAT 10 tremolo lets you have wild whammy bar fun and the Ibanez guitar's sealed die-cast tuners let you tune up in a wink.

Infinity Guitar Pickups
Infinity III and IV pickups feature more bite and chunk with balanced string output. The infinity III humbucker has a ceramic magnet and provides a dynamic sound for chording and rhythm work. The infinity IV humbucker is a brilliant lead pickup that is loaded with an alnico magnet for a warm sound with good harmonics. Controls include a master volume & tone, and a 5-way selector switch.

For over 2 decades, the Ibanez RG guitar has reigned as the unquestioned monarch of metal guitars. Why? Because the Ibanez RG is an electric guitar that has the perfect combination of a fast, flat neck, the right pickups and pickup placement, and a precision trem system that metes out creative destruction. And because the Ibanez RG guitar has evolved and expanded along with the metal genre it was designed for.

Great Budget Shredder

By Tom Parker

from Sandy,Ore

Comments about Ibanez RG120 Electric Guitar:

I traded my Strat for something I was more comfortable with especially for shredding. For being under$200 you cannot go wrong. 24 jumbo frets are a must and this is lighter than the Strat. I use a Digitech RP200 for effects and for me I still have the option of playing occasional blues sounds then can switch to the "crunch". The only bug it has and it could be that I didnt lock the G string properly is it gets out of tune. Not sure what strings were on it but they had that used dirty sweaty feel to them as it was played with at least once by sweaty salty fingers. I thought it slipped out of tune because of the new bridge-vibrato spring design but since its always the G string it must be my fault. It is a bit lighter than the Strat which again for me makes it more bearable to stand and play. This is not just a great beginners axe. It is a great experienced players all around piece. And again you cannot find a better guitar for the price!!!

Great Guitar

By Wez

from Durham, NC

Comments about Ibanez RG120 Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar as my first big guitar purchase and it is great. It has great tone even in drop tunings. The best action of any guitar I've played: I can two-hand tap where ever I want. The thing is in drop tunings the whammy might put it out of tune a bit.

Comments about Ibanez RG120 Electric Guitar:

its ok. neck bends all the time and its not as easy to fix as a gibson or washburn. tremolo is ok, should be recessed, and its a little on the heavy side.

Comments about Ibanez RG120 Electric Guitar:

i personaly found this guitar to be woth its weight in gold. my first guitar was also an ibenez but it was an acoustic. i have found that ibene3z's are great wether their acoustic or electric. and also if your going to buy this or already have it i beleive that it would be good to invest in elixer guitar strings it holds tuning in drop tunings better and they give you a better sound in clean guitar and any distortion you put on it.

AMAZING!

By Caleb Funderburk

from Indian Trail, NC

Comments about Ibanez RG120 Electric Guitar:

I just recently got this beautiful guitar for my birthday and I love it! I'm used to playing heavier guitars like my Les Paul and Ibanez Destroyer,so finally being able to play a guitar that doesn't hurt my shoulder is a positive. The feel of the neck is very smooth and easy to slide on so being able to change chords fast won't be a problem. One thing i don't like is the bridge is kinda sensitive, so palm muting is kinda difficult, but once u get used to it it becomes easy. And one thing u need to know; If you get this guitar and it seems to go out of tune a lot and very fast, its because of the springs, So don't freak out, just take it to your local Guitar Center and get them to fix it. No expense will be charged.
