Without a doubt, your instrument should equal the quality of your effort. At some point the word "boutique" comes to mind: Select-grade materials, neck-thru construction, and top quality components, all in a meticulously crafted instrument. But what about the price? That's where Ibanez comes in. Our ability to build small-shop quality into inspiring yet affordable instruments is showcased by BTB series basses.

All components of the BTB1606E are interdependent, working together toward a superior performance: The Mono-Rail IV bridge is the ultimate in string isolation for bass, with featuring a saddle lock system that maximizes stability and focuses vibration transfer.
Nordstrand "Big Single" pickups provide the clarity of single coil pickups, while the large body gives players a full and aggressive tone.
3-band EQ with mid frequency switch fine-tuned specifically for the BTB. The active 3-Band EQ features fully independent bass, treble, and mid Controls with a wide boost/cut range. Comments about Ibanez Premium BTB1606E 6-String Electric Bass Guitar:
If you ever bought a guitar for looks, let it be this one. The poplar burl is absolutely stunning, and I love that every bass looks completely different and unique. The bass was slightly smaller than I expected, which translated into it being slightly lighter than I was expecting (a very good thing). The balance is great; little to no neck dive while it's strapped up. The Nordstrands sound fantastic on this guy. I'm starting to believe that they sound better than Barts on other Ibanez basses. The sound is J-bass-ish, and all three notch positions sound great on the blend knob, as does everything in-between. Typical great Ibanez preamp, with handy passive/active (preamp bypass/preamp on) and mid-frequency switches. Personally, I'd have preferred the higher frequency to be a tad lower, but it still gives you great punch when you dial it in. The longer scale gives you great tension down low, and I put a super long scale .145 tapered B on her, and it's the best low B I've ever played. This bass is fantastic, and I truly think it's where the six-string search ends for me. The price point is ridiculous; get one now!
