Overview

The PF14WK is a dreadnought body style acoustic with mahogany top, back and sides which proffers a warm, full tone. While the open pore weathered black finish adds to the guitar's natural, subtle aesthetics, it also contributes to the sound of the instrument. Thick, heavy finishes can impede the vibration of a guitar’s body, "choking" the instruments tone and projection. The light, carefully applied weathered black open pore finish permits the wood to transfer sound more freely, optimizing vibration and allowing the guitar to realize its full sound potential. The PF14WK also features a chrome open gear tuners, rosewood fretboard and bridge with Ibanez Advantage bridge pins for improved tuning stability.

Case sold separately.

Comments about Ibanez PF14WK Mahogany Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

To start off, I have only been playing for a few months and at first I wasn't sure how much I wanted to play so I used my mom's Rogue that she had sitting around. That guitar was heavy and not very much fun to play but I really wanted to stick with it. When I finally started to be committed enough and started to see myself progressing I decided to get a guitar of my own. I was looking at getting a black guitar because I think they look absolutely gorgeous and this was the first black guitar I had seen that wasn't glossy and covered in a thick coat of lacquer. I still had a few picked out that I wanted to check out for when I went into guitar center and this was the first guitar that had immediately caught my eye. I picked it up and was surprised at how incredibly light it was. I sat down to play it and it sounded just as good as it looked. Because of the lack of lacquer the sound is able to ring throughout the entire body and produce a wonderful sound. Surprisingly the GC employee that came in to help me knew nothing about this guitar and hadn't seen anyone walk out with one. I think it was because of the fact that these are relatively new to the market as I have not been able to find much information about them myself either. I played about 7 or 8 other guitars as well including a couple Yamahas (335, 800) and a couple other Ibanezes but I kept coming back to this one. The more I played it the more I fell in love with the sound. I've had it for about a week now and have still not had to re-tune it. The low frets play full and ring through and the high frets are crisp with great treble. Like I said, I've only been playing for a few months so the things I'm saying in this review may not make any sense, but this guitar has me incredibly excited to keep going. It is easy to play and I would recommend it for any beginner/novice. I would recommend it for everyone but I'm not sure how an expert guitarist would feel about playing it.

Comments about Ibanez PF14WK Mahogany Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

It is an amazing guitar. It stays in tune like crazy and has that rich dark tone that dreadnoughts are known for. The neck is smooth and is easy is work with. the locking tuners are amazingly good. The only small problem is a minor fret buzzing, just spray some Finger Ease on the strings and it'll take care of it.
