Performance Series

By Drewbanez

from Maplewood, NJ

Comments about Ibanez PF Series PF5ECE Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This Ibanez performance series acsoustic electric dreadnought guitar with cutaway is the best I have ever owned. Its sound is deep and loud, and often I could swear it was a solid top. The features are great, including the mic cable jack and very handy onboard tuner. The factory strings actually aren't bad, I believe they are d'Addarios. However, they wear out quickly, so I replaced them with new D'addarios, a hybrid bluegrass set, and I was ready to rock. The finish, especially on the mahogany back and sides, is high quality and does not ding or show fingerprints easily. The tuners hold for several days of playing without slipping. Electronics and parts fir snuggly and their is no rattle. The action when I bought it was a bit, high, but a local luthier adjusted it slightly and that problem was ironed out. I have not yet tried the pickup, so I will keep you posted on that. Over all though, I am very happy with my purchqse from Ibanez, and it will not be my last.

Great Value!

By bluelghtspecial5

from Muncie, IN

Comments about Ibanez PF Series PF5ECE Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The Ibanez PF5 is a great sounding guitar with awesome tone. The guitar comes with an onboard tuner, but, as with most on-board tuners, it's to be used mainly for a last ditch on-stage fix. If you don't have a BOSS on stage tuner, I highly recommend getting one. The finish on my PF5 was a little rough. Just minor spots, mostly unnoticeable. The electronics were good, and unplugged the tone was loud and solid. It has warm lows and sweet highs, and it doesn?t feedback or lose tone quality if strummed fairly rough. For me, this was a must. All in all, a great guitar at a great vale and a great guitar for beginner or active musician.

Great features for the price!

By DanMan7884

from St. Louis, MO

Comments about Ibanez PF Series PF5ECE Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have a very nice Seagull Performer Acoustic-Electric and bought this is a backup. Sound is not quite as rich as the Seagull, but is nevertheless very, very good. The electronics offer a ton of options for shaping the tone and a built-in tuner is a great thing too. Overall I am thrilled with this guitar and find myself playing it much more than I expected I would. The only thing I am not a big fan of is the finish. It is very nice and well done, but a bit boring. That doesn't hurt my opinion of the guitar overall though.

It has a nice high sound and comes strings on and ready to play. This is a guitar I think every guitarist should have. I love mine and use it very much, and it works very well. If you need a good guitar i highly recommend

whoaaaaaa

By Chris H.

from Pasadena

Comments about Ibanez PF Series PF5ECE Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is pretty amazing I might say:). Puts a smile on my a face and a tear in my eye everytime I play it. I mean i've been only playing for like 10 months, but man, those were ten dedicated months and you wouldve sworn i've played longer. This is my baby, the first thing that i'd pull out of the house if it caught on fire haha. This piece of crafted woods has seen all my emotions and is a part of me. It may not be a fancy shmancy as a taylor or martin, but man, it can still sing:D. And i havent even changed the factory strings either! so imagine if i put in some new D'addarios. Oh boy:), this guitars gonna be around for a while:D

LOVE IT!

By Blaken2002

Comments about Ibanez PF Series PF5ECE Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have only been playing for about 2 years. I was in the market for an acoustic electric guitar. After playing an ovation CC24 celebrity series, and a Takamine, i was directed to this guitar by the sales associate. (Thank God). This guitar blew the others out of the water. The price comes nowhere near this guitars quality. I couldn't believe that this guitar was in my price range. This guitars sound is amazing. I highly recomend this guitar to anyone!

Oh my dear God ! ! !

By MG Johnson

from Scottsdale, AZ

Comments about Ibanez PF Series PF5ECE Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've been playing drums since the Beatles came over, I've played 12-string guitars in 1971 and my Takamine is 27 years old. Goes out of tune too often. I needed another acoustic and I played it for 15 minutes thru the amp in the room. I walked around and strummed other guitars (Ovations, Martins, Fenders) to get a comparison and this little guitar was NOT going to leave my hands. Well built, nice looking in my opinion, YEA! for the EQ board on the body, and the on board tuner is a God send. I took it back to church last night, so I've only played it once (cant' wait to get back to my studio tonight) but the cantors, other musicians, and friends in the congregation were very impressed with it's tone and sound. Highly, HIGHLY recommend this guitar for anyone...did I mention the price? Thank-you IBANEZ! ! !

Amazing Guitar!

By Dylan Carder

from Fayetteville

Comments about Ibanez PF Series PF5ECE Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Yesterday I went to my local guitar center and bought this guitar. I was shocked at its quality of both sound, and build!!!!! ive tried the high end: Martin, Taylor, Gibson... and this guitar is just as good if not beter than any of those. however, i hav found 2 spots of fret buzz on the 6 string, but its so small you can hardly notice. Personaly, I have always wanted to have a takamine, so i may end up returning this one for it, however, this guitar does play better, and a heck of alot eaiser than 99% of the guitars i have played. It also sounds great pluged in. and the onboard tuner is nice, the bridge is not adujstible, but its rather low out of the box, so i wouldent worry about it. Another this is that its not a solid body, but thats fine, because its very durable. The stock tuners are excelent as well. If you are looking for a guitar that is cheap, nice playing, loud, and built well... go with the Ibanez PF Series PF5ECE Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar.

Cool Axe

By Jerry

from Pinckney, MI

Comments about Ibanez PF Series PF5ECE Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I was always generally of the school of thought that a miked acoustic guitar was the only way to go and that electronics compromised the overall sound of the instrument. I am still a staunch believer in that regard however I was finding myself in some situations, especially for solo performances where I saw it as wise to sacrifice a bit of sonic quality for the mobility and convenience, etc. factors of the electric-acoustic axe. I didn't want to spend much much but I didn't want a piece of garbage either. In a nutshell did a bit of research and bought this axe. No regrets. I have consistantly received complements on the sonic quality of this instrument, even from those acustomed to Taylors used in this context. Just 2 days ago I did 3 solo performances with this axe with audiences of 500+ in an auditorium with a relatively recent high end P.A. I got nothing but a slew of positive comments on how enjoyable the performances were. Definately gotta give the axe some of the credit here. Bottom line, extremely good bang for the buck, to say the least.

A Real Blessing!!!

By TB

from Chicago, IL

Comments about Ibanez PF Series PF5ECE Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have had this guitar for two years, after enduring el-cheapo's. I was looking for Taylor and Martin quality without spending a truckload of cash. This guitar had it all - clarity of tone, built in tuner, strap buttons, XLR, gold tuners and more. I get a range of tones using the EQ from country twang to a nice mellow jazz strum. The neck and cutout design are great for fast high solos. I am very satisfied. If you are on a budget, get this guitar if you can find it. If you're not on a budget, get this guitar and give the unspent balance to a good children's charity or music school!

A Great Guitar for the Price!

By Craig

from Everett, Washington

Comments about Ibanez PF Series PF5ECE Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I had my mind on buying another guitar, but once I played this one, I was sold! The tone is beautiful, it has great looks, and sounds like a much more expensive guitar. The gold-tone knobs add to its classic look, and whether you're plugged in or not, it sounds great. All I can say, strap itt on and you'll agree...for the money it's tough to beat!

A gift for the boyfriend

By rankina

from Iowa

Comments about Ibanez PF Series PF5ECE Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

My boyfriend has been playing guitar for around 10 years and had talked about getting a new guitar. So as a surprise, I decided to buy him an acoustic-electric, a guitar he didn't have yet. After all of my research and conversations with people who actually know something about guitars, this was a guitar that I got thumbs up on from everyone! Come Christmas day, when the present was opened, my boyfriend was very impressed! He loves the onboard tuner, and it sounds GREAT acoustic and plugged in. What a great gift!

Absolutely Amazing

By Jonathan

from Atlanta, GA

Comments about Ibanez PF Series PF5ECE Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've had this guitar for about 8 or 9 months, and I have to say that it is a great guitar. I've played handfuls of Takamines, Martins, Seagulls, etc. and this guitar holds up with them all. It is even better than most of the high end ones. Its sound is very deep and resonant, and you can literally hear every little vibration each string makes in the chords you play. Its electronics are not quite heaven, but you can still put them in front of the crowd. I normally just mic mine, instead of going direct in. It comes with some pretty high-quality strings, but they wore out pretty quickly. Drop tuning and fingerpicking are simply stunning with this guitar. The sounds you get from fingerpicking this guitar can paint the most beautiful pictures in your mind. I did a few songs where I dropped the tuning a whole step, and it sounded so good that i kept it that way. All in all, an amazing guitar. The price is small, but the sound and looks of this guitar are colossal.
