I received this guitar and was astounded at how carefully it was packed,,,,perfect. I'll make this review brief....I bought this from MF and got a great deal on it. The set up was fine right out of the box. Excellent jazz tone and can be a versatile guitar with the different pickup settings. The instrument isn't big and clumsy, but comfortable to play with big tone. For the price, this is one of the best jazz boxes on the market today. The LGB30 does not sound like the Artcore guitars, which I consider to be too "tinny" to pull off jazz,,,, the spruce top really gives the guitar a great sound. Go ahead and buy one if you're looking for an affordable jazzbox,,,,you will not be disappointed. BTW,,Gibson has nothing at this pricepoint that could even hold a candle to the LGB30!!!!!!

Not sure why my experience was so different than other reviewers on this guitar. I ordered a sunburst and couldn't wait to get it. I have a lot of guitars, mainly solid bodies, but I started getting into jazz and wanted a jazz guitar. I have a few other Ibanez guitars and have been mostly impressed with the quality. This guitar is a different story. I opened it up and the first thing I saw was that the covering on the case was split badly in one place. No big deal. It's just a case. The guitar looked great and sounded great. But then I noticed that the neck had way too much relief in it (bowed upwards). Ok, I went to adjust the truss rod and found that it was completely loose. That was completely unexpected. Seems like nobody even looked at it before it left Ibanez. I adjusted the truss rod to specification. After I did that, I found that there was a burr on the 3rd fret that would catch the second string. Also, several frets high on the neck were high, causing severe buzzing when the action was set to spec. That one went back. I wasn't going to put the kind of work required into a guitar that cost this much. MF sent a second one. Same truss rod situation - completely loose, too much bow. Adjusted that out and found high frets 13, 15 and 17. Back that one went too. I switched to a D'Angelico EXL-1. A world of difference! No problems with that guitar. Ibanez needs to pay more attention to the set up and finishing touches. Very disappointed in Ibanez. Much thanks to Musician's Friend for making the return process easy!

Comments about Ibanez LGB30 George Benson Signature Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

This is the best guitar I've ever played. I bought a Gibson a few years ago, and this guitar almost sounds better. One thing though, this guitar was $4000 cheaper. This guitar has craftsmanship of an instrument that would cost 3x as much. If you get this guitar you won't regret it. It is an amazing jazz guitar on an amazing budget.

Comments about Ibanez LGB30 George Benson Signature Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

Setup right out of the box. String height and neck relief were set really nice. Strings were fresh. All I had to do to play it was tune it up. Theres a thin piece of foam beneath the bridge which I will remove when I put my gauge of strings on. Pickups are not stamped like the ones in the picture. Not one flaw in the finish. Frets are level and dressed nicely - no sharp edges. Tuners are smooth. Tone and volume pots are smooth and knobs are easy to use. Hard case is very nice. Tone is very versatile. Sounds very soft and jazzy in neck pickup position. Can distort very well. Great sounding pickups. Neck shape is full but not too thick - very comfortable to play. Summary: this guitar truly is comparable to one that would cost much more. I'm stunned that this guitar is made in China. It really is a great instrument.

I hesitated buying this guitar because I own an Ibanez AK95 and I thought the LGB30 was just a more expensive version. However, after doing some research I discovered the only thing the two have in common is the body. Love this guitar

Comments about Ibanez LGB30 George Benson Signature Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

I have owned a number of Gibson, Gretsch, Fender, and Yamaha guitars before this. Can't seem to find the right one that fits me... Anyone relate?!!
I am not a pro, (trust me) , but I have played a lot of different instruments, looking to find the one that fits me., and outside of spending the dough for a custom guitar (which I won't do) I have not found one that feels right. I have owned 2 Es-335's, a Gretsch Duane Eddy, and a Fender USA Tele, all not cheap axes, so I can qualify as at least being knowledgable about quality guitars, and this is one, given the price point, none of them work ,as I have sold most of them off.
I bought this "used" from Guitar Center, and can find no flaws that would qualify it as a "used "guitar. I assume it was a demo. Who Cares?! So far, the quality and feel is as good as any other guitar I have owned.
The LGB30 looks has no flaws, setup is perfect, and comes with a high quality case. All for under a thousand bucks... Go for it if you have not considered Ibanez as a quality guitar, which it is!!

I agonized over this purchase for months. I don't like to buy a guitar without trying it. Took a chance and it paid off. This guitar has the best feel and tone of any guitar in it's price range. It blows Eastman and D'Angelico away. It is am extremely well made guitar. The neck is incredible. Slightly thinner than the average Ibanez box. The guitar has punch and clarity. It has a "modern" sound and rejects feedback well. The notes have detail. It does not sound like the average AK Ibanez. If you are looking for a good sounding, good looking, and good playing guitar, look no further. George has done the work for us.

This guitar is a knockout. Absolutely stunning looks. Overall workmanship is very good. I did have a high 17th fret. That was the only problem! The tone, feel, finish, and vibe rivals the Japanese models. If you are looking for a great all-around jazz guitar, look no further. This is designed to be a JAZZ guitar. It rejects feedback well, but it is a Hollow Body guitar. I am extremely picky and I must say, this is the best guitar I have bought in years.
