i had this guitar for a couple months now and it is a really good guitar..i mean i would have paid aleast $200 just for the guitar..i noticed many people said that the gig bag was bad but hello, its basically free..you get the picks, the strap, the gig bag, a tuner, a pouch, and the amazing guitar just for $100. after you get use to the strings, re-string it...otherwise it's a great guitar...and thats the most important thing right?..not the gig bag, or the tuner or the strap

This is the second year I've used this guitar for my guitar class. I order about 20 at a time because it's a great price for the package. Last year they were all great--sound, looks, and gear. This year, the 20 I ordered sound aweful. The strings WILL NOT stay in tune and the sound resonating from the guitar poorly amplifies the already bad sound. I think I will look for a different package next time.

generally nice, not perfect in detail

Comments about Ibanez JamPack IJV50 Quickstart Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Pack:

basically speaking, considering its low price, the quality is good. only frustration is the buzz on the first string agaist fret six. tried all means but still be there. Called service and was advised to visit a nearby store to fix. but the technician only works on weekdays. have to squeeze time for it.

A great value and good quality

Comments about Ibanez JamPack IJV50 Quickstart Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Pack:

I got this guitar back in march of this yr.(2013)to replace a fifty dollar acoustic I bought on ebay when I was low on cash as my first acoustic. It was bad,so I bought this when I got my income tax back.It is wonderful very comfortable to play and sounds great warm not tinny or too thin. The extra's you get with it are just filler and the only really decent things are the storage pouch and tuner is decent for free gig bag is thin. The guitar has a beautiful finish not one blem on it or sharp frets. It also was playable out of the box with law action this is the best beginner guitar it feels good as well as comfortable to play.I have played it for a few hours without any issues like cramps ect.I take it to the park as well as friends houses and played at a party once.I am an adult beginner and this is the best bargin starter guitar around I tried the Squier,Fender DG8 as well as the Epiphone AJ 100 and Dr 100 and they were good to but I liked the Ibanez IJV50 the best it just feels so good. The neck is nice and thing and I can reach the 4th fret easily with my smaller hands without fatigue or cramps. This guitar has a laminate top so you don't have to worry about humidity temps ect.I even forgot I left it on the porch and it rained the guitar was fine.I highly recommend this guitar pack to anyone interested in learning to play guitar plus all the reviews I read before I bought it and did my research were right about it.It also stays in tune really good to.It is also light not heavy or bulky.Parent buy this kit for your kids it will not be a waste of money and it will be playable out of the box for your kids to start learning to play right away it is also well worth the 130.00 bucks plus it is an Ibanez good quality as I have another electric Ibanez and that is one of the reasons why I got this one is the quality is good no problems at all.

Best quality beginner guitar pack out there.

By Brad Carr

from Garfield Heights,Ohio

Comments about Ibanez JamPack IJV50 Quickstart Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Pack:

I am an adult beginner I did alot of research of all the 100-200 dollar starter packs as well as played the guitars offered in them. This was the best one sound is good, playability neck feel and action are all good.My guitar came set up ready to play out of the box with low action and no sharp frets or buzz.Neck is strait. They even give you a instruction manual for setting up the guitar if you need to as well as a extra ivorex saddle and bridge pin and truss rod tool. The guitar does have a laminated spruce top.The gig bag will do till you can get one otherwise pitch it in the trash along with the strap that is mainly for a child. The tuner is good.Over all I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to learn to play guitar without spending alot of money or on a budget.Parents if your kid wants to play guitar buy this and you won't be wasting your money and the guitar is not a toy.I also have another Ibanez guitar (electric)and there quality is exellent and I have never had a problem with them.

Ibanez Jam Pack

By Adam Helferich

from Farwell, Michigan

Comments about Ibanez JamPack IJV50 Quickstart Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Pack:

This Was My First Guitar. I still Have it. All in all it is a very good Guitar, and I have had mine for 4 years, and the only things that have broke on it are the strings. I break things easily too. What can I say? this guitar has served me well. The only maintenance it needs from time to time, is tightening the screws on the head. This is an incredible investment if you are planning on making a living with music.

Just a beginner on the guitar

By Anne McAninch

from Silver Spring, MD

Comments about Ibanez JamPack IJV50 Quickstart Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Pack:

I do not know a lot about guitars because I have never played on until I purchased guitar but I will try to give a good review. From what I can tell this is a good guitar for a beginner. When I decided to buy it, I got recommendations from friends that are guitarists that this was a good buy for a beginner and went with it. I have had it for a few weeks now an it seems good. The items that come with the package are appropriate for a beginner. No extra stuff that you won't use for a long time.... hope that makes sense. I am giving it four stars because the bag that came with he guitar was not great but I amnot surprised based on the price of the kit. The bag was missing the zipper body, which means I could not even open the pocket that the zipper was on. If it were the zipper pull tab, no big deal I would have just put a keychain on it but no the whole body was missing. I called Guitar Center's 866 number and they replaced it for free with a much better quality bag. The other reason I am giving it a four star rating is that it seems like I am always having to retune it. Maybe it is because it is new.... maybe it is because of the quality... maybe it is my being a classically trained musician and I am a little obsessive about being in tune.... I don't know... but I know I tune it at least two or three times during a time period of approximately an hour.

Great for a beginner

By Matt Miller

from Georgia

Comments about Ibanez JamPack IJV50 Quickstart Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Pack:

This was actually my second of two very cheap acoustic guitars. I bought it without the jam pack as a standalone purchase. The only problem i had out of it was that it rattled. which isnt too much of a problem I guess, I just wasnt about to shell out $30~ to fix something i paid so little for. The tone is really quite phenomenal for such a cheap instrument. It's quite loud and the action is magnificent. I tended to use elixir strings and martin sp lights (both phosphor bronze)to really envelope its tone to its best. However, it has a rather tinny tone. LOUD but a lot of treble. My sentiments on this guitar when describing it to my father were " Its like if Taylor made something really really cheap and sold the design to another company" dont get me wrong I love this guitar to death. I still take it all over the place with me and have yet to fix the rattle. I'd just like to put some cessation to the claims that it sounds like a $600~ guitar. It does make learning and developing very pleasant and easy and I would even say it bridges into an intermediate level of guitar. Not to be overlooked but there's also better out there. Play one and decide if YOU love it.

Really Good Guitar for the beginner

By Parrish Mooneyham

from Anna, Tx

Comments about Ibanez JamPack IJV50 Quickstart Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Pack:

Ok, I'm 40 years old and an extreme beginner. First off let me say that the package is GREAT for the money.. you are getting to learn how to play not to critique the way it's made for the price.. it sounds good and yes, because it is a beginners guitar, you will need to maintain more than a 1,000.00 dollar guitar. Tuning and Neck adjustments are the 2 biggest things I have had to do so far. I have only had this since about a month but if you learn how to play on this and you upgrade, the knowledge you have gained through the beginner guitar will pay for itself. The Tuner in the package is not the greatest but works for what it is and besides, it's free. I actually got a KORG GA-30 tuner and it works plenty good. The only lesson I had to learn is the humidity thing. The frets at the end of the neck kept getting closer and closer to the strings (of course cause it is little too drying now during this pretty cold winter). SO, I just take in the bathroom with me while I take a shower. That seems to do that do the trick as I don't have a humidifier. I would give the guitar 5 stars but as this is a 'Beginners' guitar I give it a 4 cause of some of the smaller issues, like it not staying in tune like I think any guitar should (again, this goes into you learning how to work with your guitar for when you upgrade) and fact that if pick a string and slightly (and I do mean slightly) pull on the head, you can hear the pitch of the which ever string tone change so you know the wood is a little too giving but then again, you won't be getting rough with it (I hope). The factory strings are ok, they work until you decide to get new ones.. Guitar Center can change the strings to some decent ones for about 10 bucks.. Another reason for the 4 stars is the tuners on the head, although they do the job and you get what you pay for, they are a little giving and in my opinion allows the string to move a little causing you to re-tune a little more often, but again, this is a beginners guitar.. so with this being the only issues with makes you learn how to maintain and work with your guitar.. I give 2 thumbs up for looks, 2 thumbs up for sound and 4 stars for the small issues mentioned above. OH and by the way, my advice is to get the extended warranty.. It's a great peace of mind for such a VERY cheap price for 2 years. I listen to country music the majority of the time but I range across christian, soft rock, new age and some blues.
