Overview

Joe says the inspiration for the Ibanez JS2400 Joe Satriani Signature electric guitar came from touring the world and seeing so many players using 24-fret guitars; with every manufacturer making one; and with so many records and demos have guitarists playing high up on their 24 fret guitars.

A self-proclaimed "vintage guy" Joe Satriani thought it would be "interesting to try to do some crazy things”"play fast things going up and down" on the upper frets of a 24-fret guitar while not having to worry about knocking his knuckles on wood. It's now much easier to hit an E, F# or G with this Ibanez Joe Satriani guitar. The JS2400's Prestige neck has much better clearance, more comfortable, more ergonomic while keeping the basic aesthetic of the JS guitar.

The Ibanez Joe Satriani guitar embodies exquisite craftsmanship, being a super-fast and lean tone machine with DiMarzio humbuckers. The screamin'-fast JS Prestige maple neck features tall, narrow 6105 frets and tighter radius on a rosewood fretboard. The Ibanez Joe Satriani guitar's precision-sculpted basswood body is light on the shoulder and has great high-fret access while the double-locking Edge tremolo gives you the confidence to bar-up those horse-whinny harmonics and stay in the happy realm of rock solid tuning.

DiMarzio Pro Track pickup
For most modern guitarists, the neck pickup is very important. Joe didn't want to lose that humbucker tone quality and still get as close to the neck as possible. The DiMarzio Pro Track is specially voiced to give Joe a throaty Hendrix tone”it's very close to a PAF Joe that he uses in the JS1200 Signature guitar. The Pro Mark balances well with the DiMarzio Mo' Joe humbucker in the bridge position.

DiMarzio Mo' Joe humbucker
Joe Satriani has used FRED as his main bridge pickup for years. In 2005, Joe asked DiMarzio for a hotter and bigger version to replace the FRED in his Ibanez guitars. The new model called the Mo' Joe is all about tone and definition. Its name says it all. It has more power than FRED but it doesn't sacrifice clarity or dynamics. Additionally, all the harmonics that made FRED so good are all there ready to jump out at the touch of a guitar pick. Having more output makes the Mo' Joe a perfect match for the Pro Mark in the neck position. The combination delivers great versatility and control from rhythms to solos.

For an expanded tonal palette the Ibanez JS2400 electric guitar includes a push-pull hi-pass filter on the volume control to emphasize screaming high frequencies while the tone control offer coil-spltting for the Mo' Joe humbucker.

Awesome

By Randy Heiting

Comments about Ibanez JS2400 Joe Satriani Signature Electric Guitar:

This is one of the finest guitars I've ever had or played. I have a Les Paul custom and a PRS Custom 24, I love both of them but my JS2400 just plays and sounds so nice. The neck is perfectly shaped, the prestige frets are smooth as can be. The shape is comfortable and I just love the way it looks. With a new set of strings you can get harmonics over every fret and sustain forever. One thing that really impressed me is there's absolutely no dead spot anywhere on the neck! Every guitar has a dead spot, my Gibson and PRS both have one but not this one. I haven't touched either one since I got this. It's my go to axe these days. You absolutely can't go wrong with this guitar. I love it.

JS2400 Review

By Trevor Wylie

from San Jose, CA

Comments about Ibanez JS2400 Joe Satriani Signature Electric Guitar:

The JS series has pushed the envelope of cutting edge guitar technology for many years. Joe Satriani is a guitar virtuoso on the highest level, being able to play almost any style with ease, and setting up his instrument to match his expertise. The guitar itself features 24 frets instead of 22, which is a nice upgrade in fret real-estate, and a smooth rosewood fretboard for ease of movement. The extra sonic opportunities given by the longer neck and extra 2 frets give a new level of performance to the JS series. The pickups are a personal favorite of Joe's, capturing a very Hendrix like tone on the neck position, and the Edge Double Locking Trem allows for some extreme harmonic and melodic possibilities as you dip or raise the bar to your liking without sacrificing tuning or tone.

The JS-2400

By David Scott

from Denniston, KY

Comments about Ibanez JS2400 Joe Satriani Signature Electric Guitar:

This guitar is wonderful. It features an Edge Tremolo which is considered by me and many many others as one of the best out there. It will not go out of tune but once in a blue moon if you set it up correctly, which isn't hard. Its shape is what the saber series were based from, the body is rounded at the sides for comfort. The neck is a square traditional neck joint which I love. In my opinion ibanez's with these sound better, maybe its the extra wood? The neck shape is what I can only describe as a thined down strat neck. It is thin yet slightly rounded but wonderful and fast. And this is the first Satriani to have 24 frets. The fret work on mine is top notch and easy to play and setup with low action without buzz. You can get MANY MANY tones with this thing. Since it features a coil tap AND hi-pass filter. You can go from soft, warm jazz, to Hendrix type sound to all out scream. If you can aford it, it is worth it.

Joe..... Satriani.....

By Shred Master

from Portland, OR

Comments about Ibanez JS2400 Joe Satriani Signature Electric Guitar:

Enough said... Joe Satriani is one of THE best guitarists in the world. This guitar can make intermediate to advanced players sound twice as good. Most aspects of this guitar were chosen and specified by Satriani, and he is one of the best so he knows what he's talking about!! I've gigged with this guitar, and it's always the one i use at the big, important gigs that matter, since it makes my solos even hotter than ANY guitar I've ever owned!!! BUY THIS IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY!!!!!

Finally!

Comments about Ibanez JS2400 Joe Satriani Signature Electric Guitar:

A 24 fret JS. What else do you need to say? Nothing (but I'm going to anyway). As with the rest of the better made JS guitars, this thing is AWESOME for anyone who plays higher-gain rock. The pickups are awesome. The single coil in the neck sounds just as good as the neck humbucker in the others in my opinion. Another great guitar from Satch and Ibanez
