The Ibanez JS140 Joe Satriani Signature Electric Guitar has every feature that the guitar hero requires to unleash his talents, but at a price that the weekend warrior can afford. It starts with the Satriani body made of basswood and continues with a slim and comfortable JS maple neck. The stability and sustain are amazing with a taper and radius that make fingering all 24 frets a thrill.
The Edge Zero II tremolo bridge by Ibanez is tailored to provide extreme control and maintain rock-solid intonation with each use. Soundwise, the JS140 delivers a huge range of tones. Wired to two humbuckers and a Coil-tap switch on the tone knob (push/pull). The result of which is a total control over the sound that will inspire the best in those fortunate enough to make this white beauty their own.

Comments about Ibanez JS140 Joe Satriani Signature Electric Guitar:
I am the guitarist in a 60s, 70s and 80s rock cover band. I need a versatile guitar to replicate all the sounds required. I was using a '75 Strat and a '77 Les Paul standard. I bought both of these guitars at my local music store back in the 70s and have been the sole owner of both of these fine guitars. Now I only take my JS140 to my gigs. I was considering one of the more expensive JS models but this guitar made more sense to me. All of my pedals like this guitar too. It makes all of them sound great.
The issue with this guitar is the set up. It was almost unplayable out of the box. If you don't know how to set up a guitar, you'll need to shell out some money having it properly set up. I tinkered with mine for a few days before I got it just the way I like. The action was very high and it had a couple of buzzing frets. Now it plays like a dream. Has great sustain. The tremolo works great and stays in tune. It is also much lighter than either the Paul or Strat. The neck is very similar feeling to my Les Paul. The pickups are made by Ibanez and although they don't sound half bad, I ordered the Dimarzio pickups (Chopper, Mo' Jo). I only noticed a slight difference and I really can't say it's better, just different. Overall a great guitar.
