If you take a look at ibanez guitar lineup, you get a lot of the same results: great guitars, better price. This Satriani sig is no exception. i have had this guitar for about a year now and i cant put it down. after waiting almost 2 MONTHS for this thing to get here in good condition (i recieved one before that was SMASHED), i was elated when i could finally play it outside of a guitar center store and call it my own. what shocked me out of the box was the way this guitar looked. the glossy black with the chrome hardware is a real eye catcher. but more than that, the way this guitar plays is ridiculous. some guitars are great for one style but cant hold their own in others, and this one can outdo others costing hundreds more in any style. smooth, fast neck, super lightweight, coil taps are a plus, floyd-style trem is bar-none the best out there, and the tones you can get from this baby, both clean and distorted...what more needs to be said. The price was also a plus. this guitar sounds, plays, and feels like a guitar WAY more than this guy. Do yourself a favor and score big with this ibanez.

Everything about this guitar rocks, but if you cant keep it in tune, then "Houston we have a problem". The fit and finish are great, the neck is great, the pickups are better than some will lead you to believe here. I bought mine used and noticed when I got it home there was a popping coming from the bridge. After a close inspection the Ibanez Low TRS II had a gash in the knife edge of the bridge due to poor metal used in the bridge. My thoughts if you pay this much for a guitar the hardware shown be up to par, in this case, not so much. I will replace the bridge because the guitar is "most worthy" when its in tune and has a great vibe. Note to Ibanez, better hardware makes for long time customers!

That certain something

By Darryl Maine

from California

I have a JS1000 that I bought a year or so ago, and though my JS100 is probably close to 15 years old now, I have been using it on some recent recordings. I don't know why that is exactly, and I have to say I feel a bit neurotic about it, but I just seem to gravitate towards this guitar. Mine is the red version, although I have to say that black looks awful nice too. My 1000 is that Black Pearl color which is really nice also.

Fantastic Guitar for a Fantastic Price

By Nick

from Burlington, CT

The JS-100 is by far the most fantastic electric guitar for under $1,000 that I have ever played. The basswood body conforms to the leg perfectly, the neck allows for fast riffs and easy chord progressions, the Edge III tremolo and locking tuners allow for bending to the max for hours, the Transparent Red paint finish is absolutely beautiful in person, and it plays just as well as the JS-1200. This is an absolutely amazing guitar for the price. It's perfect for the aspiring guitar player and any Joe Satriani fan on a budget. Buy now!

Pure Ibanez Awesomeness: Thanks to Joe Satriani!

By Sanborn Bryce

from Port Huron, Michigan

This Guitar is quite amazing. Although I'm not a fan of signature guitars, or even Ibanez for that matter, This guitar is great. It's so perfect for soloing and improv type stuff, also great for like, modern hard rock. I wouldn't recommend this for anything too heavy, because of the pickups and weight of the guitar, but for pure instrumental, over the top, solo master goodness, this guitar does more than enough. Perfect guitar for a large variety of genres from country and blues to hard rock and punk! I absolutely Love this guitar! THANKS JOE!!!!

One thing I dont like

By AndrewAri

from New York

This guitar is great, I loved everything about it when I played, if your a real Satch fan, go for it. BUT, before you buy it, test it out. I, myself had some trouble getting used to the neck, but that was the only thing I find hard to play about it.

Some good some not so good...

By oprtun1

from Atlanta, GA

I love this guitar's shape and light weight. You can play this guitar for hours. Good action and fast neck. Definately a shredder's axe! The pickups are ok for clean tones but leave me disappointd when I want heavier tones and power chords. The coil tap is a nice feature for more variety of tone. I've tried different amps and pedals and still wish I had hotter pickups. I found the Floyd Rose bridge difficult to setup after changing strings. This is probably due to inexperience on my part but it leaves me frustrated. Overall I wish I had spent my money differently. I'll be selling mine and taking quite a loss. My thoughts... get the js1000

Quite a guitar

By LD

from Abingdon MD

This guitar is a JS100 a step down from the 1000 and 1200 and it is made by Ibanez it has a Edge Pro II Tremolo Bridge as well.Quite a hard guitar to write on so I'll start with what I think a good about this guitar. The body is comfortable to play on for hours sitting down or standing up. The basswood version of this guitar is light and keeps the tone as much as the other woods they before basswood. The neck is great as I expected it's flat but still feels comfortable and the wood is sanded and polished nice making the neck very easy to move up and down on. The pickups are amazing for what they are made for clean and slight distortion, especially with the coil tap. And with heavy distortion it sounds pretty similar to my Schecter Blackjack which got a reviews for there pickups. My con about this guitar is the bridge. Which I guess is just me being unexperienced with D/L Trems. My high e string is always snapping and there is a hole in the tremolo which the hex wrench is supposed to go through and the actual hole which tightens the torque on the trem arm is off by 1/2 if anyone can tell me kindly how to fix both these problems email me if you wish.

This Guitar is a hot rod if there ever was one. I have played this guitar as fast as i can and it still holds its own. the floyd rose bridge is perfect for the shred tricks and this guitar has the vintage vibe i like.
