Overview

With the growing popularity of the Iron Label series, Ibanez continues to tap the seismic underworld for inspiration. Working their famous RGA body shape from the “chassis” up, the RGAIX6FMT has been designed to add some dark, dramatic flair to the brand’s no-frills “made-for-metal” lineup.

This striking 6-string electric brings an air of mysterious beauty to the Iron Label line. The guitar’s transparent flat finished Flamed Maple top creates an aura that is truly mesmerizing. Matched with a Mahogany body, these woods combine to create a warm, yet expressive tone.

Working from the philosophy that playing comfort translates into speed and articulation, the RGAIX6FMT features a spacious, bound Ebony fretboard mounted on a 3-piece Maple/Bubinga Nitro Wizard neck that both enhances playing agility and optimizes clarity.

The reliable Edge-Zero II bridge, with its trusty locking system, is ready to soar, aptly handling every swoop, shimmy and dive and then return to earth solidly in tune. Gotoh locking machine heads help provide superior tuning stability and expedite string changes.

Specifically developed for this guitar through close collaboration between Ibanez and DiMarzio—Fusion Edge pickups have been engineered to produce a powerful, distinctive tone with crisp, cutting, high end, and a tight, compressed bottom end, minus any muddy mid range. An added coil-tap feature, easily accessible through a conveniently located on/off mini switch, provides even greater tonal options.

The RGAIX6FMT is yet another reason why the Ibanez Iron Label series is winning over new die-hard converts every day. Case sold separately.

Comments about Ibanez Iron Label RGA Series RGAIX6FMT Electric Guitar:

This is a phenomenal guitar! Pickups sound great especially in neck position. Coil tap is great but sounds even better when used in a clean sound. One thing that might take some getting used to is not having fret inlays on the fretboard. This is only a problem when I'm higher up on the neck because my thumb usually blocks the fret markers from the top view. Not a huge deal though; it will just take some getting used to. Also the Edge II bridge's whammy bar needs to be tightened after using it for a short period of time and starts to squeek a bit if not tightened. This can be solved with some Vaseline most likely if you put it on the end of the whammy bar. Last thing is I hate how I can't do double stop bends without temporary tuning instability without blocking the tremolo but I know that's on all floating bridges so I didn't put that as a con. Overall it's a great guitar. Everything bad about it I stated but nothing is bad enough to where it devalues my playing time on the instrument.
