Meet Ibanez's new made-for-metal guitar series, Iron Label. Working from the chassis of their famous RG, they modded and tweaked with the heaviest of metal in mind. The RGIX27FEQMs quilted maple top and basswood body hits that perfect formula of comfortable weight and rich in sustain. With jumbo frets and bound ebony fingerboard, playing speed and comfort are carried to a new level by the original innovators of the fast neck, with their latest Nitro Wizard-7 neck design.
No matter what your signal chain, an EMG 707 in the neck position and an EMG 707 in the bridge, guarantees a thick, complex distortion from which to carve your signature sound. The Gibraltar Standard 7 bridge is extremely reliable and the performance enhancing killswitch puts you in command of a head-turning strobe effect. With the purposefully Spartan Iron Label, you won't find a feature here that doesn't contribute directly to waking the dead.

Comments about Ibanez Iron Label RG Series RGIX27FEQM 7-String Electric Guitar:
This is the second Ibanez 7 string I've owned, the previous being a RG prestige. The new nitro wizard is more comfortable to play and faster than the original wizard 7 neck, and the addition of Bubinga with the maple is a nice plus. I usually rip out EMG's and replace them with DiMarzio's but the 707's sound too awesome on this to do it. The ebony fingerboard is new to me, out of my 5 RG's this is the first one. I really like it, it's great for metal There is no tone knob to annoy me, has a convenient kill switch that works great for instant mute. The strings that come on it are garbage, to bright sounding for a metal guitar and should come with a heavier gauge than they put on it but that's personal preference. Over all it's a great looking, great sounding guitar.
