Comments about Ibanez Iron Label RG Series RGIR27BE with Tremolo 7-String Electric Guitar:

This guitar plays great. The tremolo is really fiddly though, even for a floyd type. I have a ZR trem in another Ibanez S 6 string and it's much better (easier to tune, better stability). Mostly I just really disliked the active pickups. I've never had a guitar with active pickups and they just didn't work for me. If this guitar had decent passive pickups (dimarzio, etc) and a better trem I would've kept it. The neck is really nice though. A lot of reviews of older Iron Label RG's complained about sharp edges on frets and poor craftsmanship, but that was not the case for this guitar.

One other thing worth mentioning is the dead spots on the G string around the 12-17 fret. Every Ibanez I've owned has this and it's irritating. This one is no exception. The only way I've found to resolve it on my other Ibanez's is with a wound G string but forget about big bends. I didn't try on this one. My strat and es339 don't do this.
