With the growing popularity of the Iron Label series, Ibanez continues to tap the seismic underworld for inspiration. Working their famous RGA body shape from the “chassis” up, the RGAIX7FM has been designed to add some dark, dramatic flair to the brand’s no-frills “made-for-metal” lineup.

This striking 7-string electric brings an air of mysterious beauty to the Iron Label line. The guitar’s transparent flat finished flamed maple top creates an aura that is truly mesmerizing. Matched with a mahogany body, these woods combine to create a warm, yet expressive tone.

Working from the philosophy that playing comfort translates into speed and articulation, the RGAIX7FM features a spacious, bound ebony fretboard mounted on a 3-piece maple/bubinga Nitro Wizard neck that both enhances playing agility and optimizes clarity. The acclaimed Ibanez Gibraltar Standard II-7 bridge improves sustain and provides faultless intonation. Gotoh locking machine heads help provide superior tuning stability and expedite string changes.

Specifically developed for this guitar through close collaboration between Ibanez and DiMarzio—Fusion Edge 7 pickups have been engineered to produce a powerful, distinctive tone with crisp, cutting, high end, and a tight, compressed bottom end, minus any muddy mid range. An added coil-tap feature, easily accessible through a conveniently located on/off mini switch, provides even greater tonal options.

The RGAIX7FM is yet another reason why the Ibanez Iron Label series is winning over new die-hard converts every day. Case sold separately.

Comments about Ibanez Iron Label RG Series RGAIX7FM 7-String Electric Guitar:

This has quickly becoming my favorite guitar in my collection. My normal guitars are a Gibson les Paul supreme, and a '68 telecaster thinline. This guitar not only feels as good, but plays just as good as those beauties.
I'm in a touring edm/heavy rock band so I decided to go with the seven strong route and I couldn't be happier. The pickups in this guitar are so crisp and clean that going to the low tunings is a breeze (even with distortion). My favorite thing about it though is the versatility. The coil tap option is a dream. I can go from a thick bassy tone to a nice springy/plucky tone in a click of a switch. I use this for everything from church music, blues, country, rock, metal, and prog.

Definitely recommend checking this guitar out, and if the seven string isn't for you they have a 6 string model as well, which I just happened to pick up as well.
