If you're looking to get into the 6 string, this baby is for you. Awesome price and playability. Played this guitar and a few other 6ers in the store the other day and picked this one for its sound and ease of play. Looked at the price tag and did a double take. Can't believe that this kind of sound came out of a cheap guitar. I have owned my fair share of axes and this one ain't going anywhere for a good while.

    Great Instrument

    By Timothy Cummins

    from Huntington Beach, CA

Comments about Ibanez Gio GSR206 6-String Bass Guitar:

I've been playing bass for about 6 years now, and play primarily on a Geddy Lee Signature Fender jazz bass. I wanted to get something with a really wide range, but didn't want to shell out a lot of cash. I started playing this Ibanez in my local Guitar Center and really fell in love with it (and the price). The neck is super thin and the bass itself is relatively lightweight. Tone is the most important thing though, and the this Ibanez doesn't disappoint. There's even a 'boom' knob that really makes this thing rumble. For a first 6 string, I don't think you could really do any better.

    Great Bass and Value

    By Leonard Faison

Comments about Ibanez Gio GSR206 6-String Bass Guitar:

I just bought this bass and it feels great, it plays great, it sounds great. It is a joy to play. I love the tone and ease on the fret board. It has an ease for jazz and hard edge for metal(Dream Theater style). I would recommend this bass to anyone.

    Great Deal & Sound

    By J-Payne

Comments about Ibanez Gio GSR206 6-String Bass Guitar:

I bought this bass for my b-day last year. i went to the Guitar Center in Greensboro, NC. it was my 1st time goin there and they have such a helpful staff. Anyway i was on a misson to get the Ibanez gsr206. i tried it in the store on an Acoustic combo amp and hated it. but i loved the sound i got from it when i plugged it into Gallien-Krueger amp. Pros: wide neck yet very thin, good standard pickups no hiss, comes in black. Cons: all the weight is in the head of the bass, A-string very buzzy/sometimes muted @ 1st and 2nd fret you can really see fringerprints. overall its great for it's price. i suggest you buy this or the Rogue LX406. Both of them BEAST!!!

    This bass

    By J.R.

    from St. Paul MN

Comments about Ibanez Gio GSR206 6-String Bass Guitar:

This is easily the best 6 string bass that you can buy for the price. It is excently crafted. I bought it almost a year ago and the nobs are beginning to get lose, but it hasn't changed the overall sound. This was the first six string I bought and I won't be going back. If you are new to a six string I HIGHLY reccommend buying this one. Ibanez really know what they are doing when they make a relatively cheap bass that is also six string and very good quality. The only thing that I don't like is that its only 22 frets, but thats no problem because of the high C string.

    perfect

    By John T. Vonachen

    from Stockton, CA

Comments about Ibanez Gio GSR206 6-String Bass Guitar:

versatile with 6 strings, black (wanted it black), the bridge is way back which is good for full length basses like this. That way the neck is not too long. The top part of the body sticks way out which is good. That way the neck does not dive, very well balanced. It sounds great. I got it with the hard case built for it and a fancy strap. It's a little heavy so my wide soft strap is especially good for it.

    Fantastic Value!

    By Chuck Davis

    from North Stonington, CT

Comments about Ibanez Gio GSR206 6-String Bass Guitar:

I've played 6 string basses for years now. My first was an early Ibanez SR506 made back when that model came with a maple neck rather than the current multi-piece necks. I wanted this bass for the Ibanez neck profile and narrower 16.5mm spacing as my other 2 6'ers are 20mm at the bridge. This little bass is a fantastic value! Light, extremely easy to play, well balanced across the fretboard. I haven't gigged with it yet so I really can't comment on the electronics but.....it sounds nice thru my practice combo at home. I'll take it to next weekend show and use it for one set. If you're thinking of getting into a 6...or looking for a super solid backup...this is a no-miss proposition. Great bass!
