Comments about Ibanez Gio GRG20Z Electric Guitar:

Got my guitar within 3 days. Setup was terrible. This is a "shredder" guitar so, you would expect the action to be super low without much buzzing or "grounding out" when you stretch a string.

The action was high, like a strat, not like a shredder. So, I had to adjust the truss rod to eliminate relief, lower the bridge saddles and change strings. I had to change string because this thing would not stay in tune for more than 2 or 3 strums, much less using the tremolo bar. I was going to return it.

After changing strings and "locking them in" so that the string wraps around itself when coming out of the hole in the tuning peg, it keeps tune just fine and feels good. I can use the trem bar but, the G string gets still caught in the saddle. Either graphite or a little filing and shaping the nut at the third string should fix that. It is a cheap plastic nut. I might have to change it.

Overall, Good guitar for the money.

    Good beginner/around the house ax.

Comments about Ibanez Gio GRG20Z Electric Guitar:

I am overall pleased for the price. You can probably beat it shopping around but I'm a die hard Ibanez fan, and I do not like to switch brands. I previously owned a RG170 and I traded that for a car. Now that I own the Geo it makes me miss it even more, but I cant complain. With the right strings, some lockdowns and a little wood work I can slap this floyd rose tremolo I got, I'm thinking I can easily upgrade it for gig use. So if you're a beginner or want an around the house guitar, plus an Ibanez fan, I would say buy it. Buy 3 of them! Good deal. cant complain one bit.

    Great Guitar for small Price

    By Frank

Comments about Ibanez Gio GRG20Z Electric Guitar:

I have been playing guitar for 47 years. Have played expensive and cheap guitars. Picked this up today at Guitar Center. I was comparing a Squire Tele, Epiphone SG and this Ibanez GRG20Z. I was surprised how clear the notes were on this guitar. The guitar was good right out of the box. The action was a little higher than I use but I actually liked it and left it alone. I ran the guitar through a King of Tone overdrive/distortion pedal when I got home and the guitar screamed! I was totally amazed at the great tone that came out of this budget priced guitar. This is the first Ibanez I owned and it sure won't be the last.

    Perfect for a begginer

    By Michael Cottrell

Comments about Ibanez Gio GRG20Z Electric Guitar:

The cable it comes with really sucks but the guitar itself is perfect for a hobbyist or beginner. The tuning knobs are comfortable and easy to tune but aren't so loose to knock your guitar out of tune. It has a nice distorted sound for those heavy crunch riffs but you can keep it clean for acoustic chords. No it's not a stage or studio recommended guitar but it definitely works perfect as a practice guitar. It's comfortable in your lap but thin enough for stand play. I love how the fret board starts out a little close at the top and gets wider as it gets closer to the body making it convenient for wild shreds

Strings or fretboard are not set up correctly

    By Carlos Gonzalez

    from Thousand Oaks CA

Comments about Ibanez Gio GRG20Z Electric Guitar:

The strings are too loose so you cant play any of the first fret without hearing a loud buzzing noise. It gets untuned very quickly with the tremolo and its not worth using. The body and color is wonderful and i love that it has 24 frets. If you spend an extra 20-50$ you can i get a way better guitar.

    Awesome Customer Service & Shipping!

    By Jay Snyder

    from Trion, GA

Comments about Ibanez Gio GRG20Z Electric Guitar:

So I have been playing for around a year now....My buddy has been really teaching me to play and he has a BC Rich and a Line 6 amp.....So I was using a 1997 First Act Electric Guitar and Amp combo (From Walmart, they dont even sell these anymore!). Well I decided that if I want to start playing like him, I was in definite need of an upgrade. I couldnt keep up with him because every 2 hours my guitar would go out of tune and my fretboard was bent.....ANYWAYS, Onto the Ibanez Gio....I Highly recommend this guitar to anyone, New player or older player. It has a thinner fretboard (Which means the distance from your palm to the strings is closer, unlike acoustics which are very fat boards). I have large hands and fingers and this made me be able to do my pantatonic and soloing ALOT easier, so don;t worry guys, finger/hand size wont matter with this bad boy!. This model was created after the RG model Ibanez (which is 199.99) so its $50 cheaper because it doesnt have the shark tooth inlays on the fretboard...I ordered it on Friday morning, and recieved it Monday night.....And it was ground shipping...Talk about fast! and the shipping was free. Hells yeah! I also recommend the Line 6 Spider IV 30watt amp to go along with this guitar. It is a MEAN! MEAN! MEAN Combo......I read over 1000 reviews before I chose to purchase this guitar because it was my first real guitar purchase.....so take my word for it....If you are looking to uprgrade and only have $150 to spend....Look no firthur than this guitar....And guys, The White Guitar Style is very very pleasing on the eyes! Keep those picks shredding, and remember....TURN IT UP TO 11!!!!!!
