I was truly amazed at how nice this guitar is and plays. I have been playing guitar for over 30 years. I wanted to get my kids into playing a stringed instrument. My boys are ages 8,10 & 12. All three have been able to pick it up and start playing...(with a little instructional help from me) For the money, this guitar is excellent. I like it so much that I am considering buying one for my studio to record with. The sound is great and the best part about it is that you can tune it. In my experience, you get what you pay for. I have looked at purchasing 6 string micro guitars in the past and never bought any because the intonation was always off. I could never tune them up out of the box. I would have to spend additional money to have it set up properly or do it myself. The Micro Bass by Ibanez sounds great right out of the box. My boys are loving it.

A little rough around the edges but overall a great bass. The neck and fretboard were very, very dry feeling until I used mineral oil (baby oil) to give them a better feel. This bass has a true low sound on the neck pick up ( p-bass style split). At a recent jam session, someone recorded us with a one point stereo mic and the bass was so strong that it blew out the recording. Guess I will have to play softer. Love the even shorter short scale of 28.6" Guitar licks and scales transfer over much easier, as I am playing both guitar and bass regularly at the moment.

Comments about Ibanez GSRM20 Mikro Short-Scale Bass Guitar:

I just started on the bass. I'm 5'3". I started with a 34" scale as I knew of nothing else. quickly learned about short scale and bought a 30" jaguar squire. then I picked up the mikro. it is the perfect size and weight for me. I really liked the squire but after awhile it gets heavy, to me anyhow. I can say I love this guitar compared to the other two. I can really slap and power on this little baby. highly recommended for the vertically challenged like myself.

Comments about Ibanez GSRM20 Mikro Short-Scale Bass Guitar:

I compared side-by-side the Ibanez with a Fender Affinity short-scale bass. I easily favored the Ibanez because it has two distinctly different sounding pickups versus only one pickup on the Fender. The Ibanez was lighter, too, which was important to me. The fret board was easier to play than the Fender, though some may prefer the Fender. I use the Ibanez for recording. It sounds great. The only negative is that the Ibanez came stock with some fret buzz, but was easily remedied with the instructions and tools they sent with the bass. Finally and least important, the Ibanez is gorgeous. I bought the sunburst. The Ibanez GSRM20 Mikro Short-Scale Bass Guitar is an excellent value.

Comments about Ibanez GSRM20 Mikro Short-Scale Bass Guitar:

I'm a guitar player that likes to write/compose with recording software. I wanted an inexpensive bass to use for this purpose. The small size is great for my small hands and if you are recording at a desk/work station it's easy to maneuver. I've only used the bass through Guitar Rig so I don't know how it would sound through a traditional amp, but I've been able to get some great sounds through the software. It has some fret buzz even after adjusting the truss rod, but I haven't played a bass that doesn't have a little buzz to it. Overall I am very happy with this purchase - very practical instrument for the price.

Great bass for kids and adults who don't won't a big heavy bass. Good low end. My son is 8 and he loves it and I like playing it because it fells more like a guitar due to it's size. Good product, they all need a little tweekin it doesn't matter how much you spend on a guitar or bass.

Comments about Ibanez GSRM20 Mikro Short-Scale Bass Guitar:

I started playing bass in 1988 but been wanting to play before that. I bought this bass guitar for my wife who is a drummer. She is petite and wanted a bass that will suit her size. She didn't like my bass guitars because they were too big for her. So we went to GC and found this Mikro Bass. She asked me to try it out and so I plugged it to a Mark Bass amp which is my amp that she would be using. What!?! All that tone coming out of that small guitar. The sound was awesome. I asked my wife if I could use it sometimes and I received a big NO! The money we paid for this bass guitar is worth every cent and even beyond the expectation.

Comments about Ibanez GSRM20 Mikro Short-Scale Bass Guitar:

I bought this just to have around to study bass theory as I'm a guitar player, and the tone was good and it's easy to play. One of the tuning pegs snapped off in my hand though, so I returned it fearing other mechanical problems. I wound up with a the Fender VMJBS short scale, which has a longer scale but still easy for me, and so far so good with that. And not that I find fault with the tone of the Ibanez, but I get that Fender tone now. Both at about the same price. I guess I'd say that the Ibanez is more guitar like overall, which is either better or worse depending on your preference and need.

I have been playing bass professionally since 1976. Thought I would grab me a little short neck bass to jam around with and leave my axe in the flight case. I was NOT disappointed with this bass guitar. Quick runs, nice neck, smooth feel, good electronics, quite electronics, solid hardware, nice sound.

I recently took up the bass again after several years. I'm an average size guy but have small hands and somewhat short fingers. The Mikro's short scale neck and frets are perfect for this. The bass sounds great (me not so much) and has a great feel to it. I'm really enjoying learning on this instrument; I'd recommend this to a young person, lady or anyone with smaller hands.

I have the 4 & 5 string versions of this and they have never let me down. I perform with several groups playing everything from Jazz, Blues, Funk, Rock, Country, & even using in a church contemporary service. The different tones & sounds that come out this instrument are amazing. Ibanez, the shorter musicians of the world thank you.
