This bass is a very good quality bass for beginners. This was my first bass and I bought it about 2 years ago. It is durable and i especially like that the Ibanez GSR200FM has both the P-style and J-style pickups, because it allows you to play more versatile genres. I play anywhere from rock to jazz and this bass along with my fretless, get the job done. This bass is not a great investment for an experienced bassist, but it is the best value out there for beginners. Other basses do not come close.

Simply Awesome

By Iceberg

from Rockford,Il

This bass is perfect for rock bands such as the one i'm in. It is so easy to slide your fingers up and down this bad boy, and would easily suggest that any bass player, especially at that price

CRAZY BASS!

By Bassiano!

from Bethesda, MD-U.SA

I won't lie to you. If you buy this bass, you will NOT be disappointed. The pickups growl sickly, slapping and popping comes out nicely. I personally, love treble, as a member of a 3 man band, and this thing delivers. And don't get me started on the finish. Only 2 problems. It smudges extremely easily, so be prepared to wipe the body after every play or so. And also, the strings it come with are HORRIBLE. So change them ASAP. I highly recommend this bass. Sure, it doesn't beat most basses 800$+, but hey, 240 bucks for a great bass? Bring it on!

Exellent bass at an even better price

By Bassmaster from GA

from Nowheresville GA

Although the guitar is said to be built fo the heavy rock bassist, you can play just about anything wiht this guitar. I often play at gigs and parties and the Ibanez gsr200fm hasn't let me down yet. This bass is worth the money wether you are just starting of have been playing for a while.

i love this bass

By noobbassist

from Cerritos, CA

im a 14 year old left-handed bassist and i must say, this guitar is nice. the quality of this guitar isnt really different from the standard p-bass or jazz bass yet the prices have a huge difference. this is a great beginner bass but also a pro bass. the only con about this guitar is that it buzzes a bit when you leave the amp on and have your hands off the strings. the bass boost and treble boost really gives the bass a good sound quality. this guitar with my fender rumble 100 really offers the best sound and it sounds really similar to any top of the class basses. breat bass honestly

Great bass to record

By Big Country

from Chesnee, SC

This bass is what a bass should be. The sound is... well whagtever you want it to be basically. And when you're ready to get loud, this puppy pumps with the active PU. The best feel of any bass I've played, light and fast neck. I love it, but I'm gonna strip her down and paint her VERY soon!!

solid value

By parkernumber4

I've owned this bass for about two years now, in which I learned on. I love that the hardware and everything all the way through is sturdy and good quality for the money. Going back to when I was looking for a good bass at a tight budget, I would do the same thing over again! Even when I upgrade basses, I will always keep this one!

Great Price For a Great Bass

By DaveC

from Ann Arbor, MI

This bass is amazing. I am able to use it for basically any type of music I feel like playing that day. The neck is very comfortable and it looks godly. Soundgear basses deserve their popularity. This was my very first bass, and I wouldn't play anything else.

Great Begginer Bass!

By IAMTHEDOCTOR

from Clarksville, MD

My sister got this Bass for Christmas, but never took much interest in it, So I took it. For a begginer bass it works very well. I play it through just a 50W Crate Bass Amp but it still play's very decently. For anyone starting to learn the Bass I reccomend this, it will really help you grow with whatever style of music you are ready to endeavor upon.
