This bass is a very good quality bass for beginners. This was my first bass and I bought it about 2 years ago. It is durable and i especially like that the Ibanez GSR200FM has both the P-style and J-style pickups, because it allows you to play more versatile genres. I play anywhere from rock to jazz and this bass along with my fretless, get the job done. This bass is not a great investment for an experienced bassist, but it is the best value out there for beginners. Other basses do not come close.

Not the best.

I was very dissapointed with this. This is my 2nd bass and im going to sell it. Unless your in a tight spot don't waste your money.

Amazing Bass, Awsome Price!!!

By Paul

from Detroit, Michigan

first of all i must say this bass is amazing. The paint on the fm's make the bass look even more expensive than they are. It plays great. I really like the PJ stlye pick-ups, it gives a wide range of sound. The bass booster gives it a whole lotta kick especially when playing some real heavy stuff. The Bass plays incredibly smoothe, and the neck has a really nice feel. It really does not matter what style of music you play this bass will do it all, because of the various settings that you have on the bass. You can turn up or down either pickup, turn up the volume, and then for extra kick the bass boost. If youre just starting out this bass is perfect because for the price you can't beat it. Have fun rockin'!!!

Great.

By Bassman 0600

from Fernandina Beach, Florida.

This Bass is great. It is just what I was looking for. It has premium quality sound and finish and it is the envy of a lot of my friends. The only problem with this bass is that the strings aren't very good so make sure you get new strings ASAP.

solid value

By parkernumber4

I've owned this bass for about two years now, in which I learned on. I love that the hardware and everything all the way through is sturdy and good quality for the money. Going back to when I was looking for a good bass at a tight budget, I would do the same thing over again! Even when I upgrade basses, I will always keep this one!

i love this bass

By noobbassist

from Cerritos, CA

im a 14 year old left-handed bassist and i must say, this guitar is nice. the quality of this guitar isnt really different from the standard p-bass or jazz bass yet the prices have a huge difference. this is a great beginner bass but also a pro bass. the only con about this guitar is that it buzzes a bit when you leave the amp on and have your hands off the strings. the bass boost and treble boost really gives the bass a good sound quality. this guitar with my fender rumble 100 really offers the best sound and it sounds really similar to any top of the class basses. breat bass honestly

Great bass to record

By Big Country

from Chesnee, SC

This bass is what a bass should be. The sound is... well whagtever you want it to be basically. And when you're ready to get loud, this puppy pumps with the active PU. The best feel of any bass I've played, light and fast neck. I love it, but I'm gonna strip her down and paint her VERY soon!!

Great Bass for those just starting out

By RandomRhythm

from Undisclosed

This bass is great for people who like heavy rock music along with metal. The pick ups on this bass are great. I have progressed a lot with this bass. I am only 13 years old and have been playing for about 2 years and this bass was great for my many types of music. If you want to be a crazy fast finger moving bassist like Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers this abss will perform wonderfully. Or if you are more into jamming like Hunter from A.F.I this abss will work wonders. I highly recomend it to people who are just learning. This bass will cover all different types of genres.

best beginner bass for your buck

By the tubaboy

from Grand Rapids, MI

that title says it all! I started playing a year ago on this bass, and it was definitely the right bass for me. I haven't had any issues with it yet, except that it's scary when it makes a garbled sound randomly and it takes a minute to realize that the battery for the active system that comes with it is a cheapo. changed it out, no problems. only playing issue that i've had is that there's some fret buzz when playing above about the 12th fret on the E string, and the action probably just needs to be adjusted for that. If you're thinking of starting on bass, this is the one for you!
