I've been playing guitar for about 2 years, and have been playing piano for 4 or 5. i bought this bass because i wanted to experiment with other instruments, and i have to say that i love it. it makes a nice sound, is solidly built, and looks freaking cool. i play in a band that does weekly live performances, and it works great. in the beginning there was a little bit of interference with the back pickup when the treble was turned up really high, (wich we figured out was actually the wah pedal it was hooked up to at the time) but when we used the front pickup it worked just fine. when playing at home there is no interference at all. this is an all around great bass that i would recommend to anyone, experienced or not, and is definitely worth the money.
I love this bass, I bought about a year ago and it still plays like new. It has good tone and you rarely need to change the strings or tune it. Although I feel as though I grown past it, I am a huge fan of fender and I love jazz basses and this just doesn't have that feel. When I use it, I feel empowered to an extent but not to my full potential because I'm held back by my bass and it's limitations, which upsets me. Overall it's a good bass for a great price and even though it has it's flaws, I love mine
This was my first bass. I've been playing for almost a year, having started off by borrowing a friend's Dean bass. I've had this one for about 4 months and I love it. Cleaner sound than the Dean. Less buzz/hum. I like the neck/fretboard better. Seems like it's a little faster. I got the brown sunburst finish which looks great. (It's not quite as light as the picture makes it look.) Although I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, you can play anything from jazz to hard rock pretty well on this thing. If you're looking for an entry level bass, this is the one you want. It's better, in my opinion, than the Deans and Squiers I've played that are in the same price range.
