Comments about Ibanez GSR200 4-String Electric Bass:

My first bass guitar and I hit a home run with this one. I have eight guitars now from acoustic, electric acoustic to various electric guitars. Decided I wanted a bass guitar to play with too. I can almost swear that this thing was custom, precision made just for me. It feels and sounds so good in my hands. I can hardly believe how comfortable I am playing it. I play lead mostly at our jam sessions and in our last session played some lead with a four string bass. Wow!! Some of the other pickers in our group tried it out and all agreed that it's a superb bass guitar. We didn't have a bass guitar in our group, just an old stand up bass. Might be going to have a few more bass guitars now though. As everyone really enjoyed playing mine over the longer than normal 3 1/2 hr. session. Yep, we took turns playing my new bass, but never again will I share it, lol!

Ibanez at a great price, but different than the image

Comments about Ibanez GSR200 4-String Electric Bass:

This is an entry level bass, but it sounds great and seems to be pretty well constructed. I've only logged around 20 hours or so on it at this point, but I've no complaints on quality. My only issue is that I love the look of walnut, and that was one of the things that attracted me to this instrument. The stock photo shows the natural wood, but the instrument I received has been finished with a stain. It's so dark that it looks black. It doesn't affect the sound, of course, but it was a disappointment. Next time I'll make my purchase in-store.

Comments about Ibanez GSR200 4-String Electric Bass:

I've been playing 6 string guitar for years and decided to give bass a try; this was my first bass purchase. So far, so good; it's exactly what I wanted for getting started.........better than a starter pack guitar but not too expensive on the grand scheme of things.
If you are experienced enough to critize this bass, than you are experienced enough to not be buying $200 basses.
This is great for beginners; a solid instrument that stays in tune and keeps you inspired. It benefits from a set up (intonation, action, new strings, ect) but not enough for me to complain about it.

Comments about Ibanez GSR200 4-String Electric Bass:

After playing guitar for years a long time ago, I decided to start playing the bass about 6 months ago. I researched and the GSR 200 kept coming up as a great starter bass. The GSR200 is much, much more than that; this bass is a high quality precision made instrument. I put some DSR flat-wound strings on my GSR200 and the tone is really smooth and really good. I adjusted the neck with the truss rod (relatively easy to do), and this bass plays better (easier) than anything I have picked up to date. I have had two professional musicians play my bass, and they both said that it plays uncommonly well; as good or better than a mid-range Fender. Parts are great, the instrument is very durable, stays in tune really well, very adjustable. I purchased this bass with the idea that if I got into playing, I would upgrade . . . I am now playing with two amateur bands 3 days a week . . . so yea, I am kind of into it . . . but I have no intention of upgrading my bass. There is no need; this is an incredible instrument that meets all my needs!

Kudos to Guitar Center as well!

Comments about Ibanez GSR200 4-String Electric Bass:

I purchased this bass to hang in my studio for anyone to play. I also slappa de beass every once in a while. It sounds good while playing and the overall tone is very nice. It is definitely a midrange quality bass but Ibanez always does a good job. I am pleased with the purchase.

Comments about Ibanez GSR200 4-String Electric Bass:

I just got this the other day. Due to a physical disability with my right hand I sold my previous bass and always felt bad about it. I decided a few months ago to try playing again to see if I can handle playing again. I've had to make some adaptations to my playing style since I can now only use my middle and ring fingers to play, but even using finger picks to avoid nerve irritation it still has a great sound. I can't wait to play this with a group of musicians.

Great bass! This little thing just takes the cake, and sounds great in my recordings. Plays nice, sounds nice, looks nice! The picture on this site really doesn't do the walnut finish justice.

Only a few of problems: it needs a setup out of the box, the knobs are plastic and feel kind of fragile, and the guitar has a few scratches here and there out of the box too. Though, it's hardly noticeable and doesn't detract from the experience at all!

              Well worth the money!
