This was my first electric guitar when I bought it brand new in 02 or 03. I knew absolutely zero about guitar back then. It was cheap and good looking and my friends all played Ibanez guitars so I had to be a poser and get one. I have not modified it in any way other than new strings periodically. It's a very versatile instrument from blues to jazz to metal and it can take some serious abuse! Excellent starter.

This guitar is alright. I got this guitar when i had just started playing, it was my first electric guitar. The thing is alright, i mean, it usually performs for whats expectred of it. But its often hard to get it in tune, and i had one of the springs holding my string on shoot off into space after about 2 weeks. Its a great starting guitar, but nothing more.

Great starter guitar for $200

By Andrew Shin

from Indianapolis

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

I must say, this is a really good guitar, especially considering it is a 200 dollar guitar. I bought this a few years back, and didn't know much about guitars, so I thought I'd buy a really cheap one and see if I like playing guitars. At the time, I had no idea what to look for in a guitar. I went to college and started playing electric guitar again jamming with friends. I brought this GSA60 out of the closet and was pleasantly surprised. The sound was great (for 200 dollar guitar). I could dial in some decent tones, and used it in a show one time and people kept saying the guitar sound was very nice. The best thing about this guitar, though, is that it's cheap (not in a negative connotation at all). Because it was inexpensive, I wasn't scared to play with the setups, and being rough playing the guitar. I now have a Gibson Les Paul Traditional, and while the Les Paul is an amazing guitar, I can't get myself to duke it out in a jam session with friends, because I'm too worried about protecting the beautiful paint job, etc. I would definitely recommend this guitar to anyone who want to try out guitars.

Excellent entry level guitar by Ibanez

By darren short

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

I own a few Ibanez guitars ART320, RG350MPZ, & RG1570 Prestige and for an entry level guitar, this GSA-60 plays really well in comparison and for what it is. Nice comfortable neck. The stock PSND pups aren't all that bad. I was using mine as a travel guitar on business trips. Paired up with a Boss Micro BR, it made time in the hotel room pleasant. I have to mention again that the neck is superb on this thing - comfy and fast. At this time, you can find some good deals(<$100) on some used GSA-60S out there too. And at that used price, it's definitely worth a try if you're not wanting to spend a ton on a new guitar.

Its Decent

By River

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

It has an amazing sound for such a cheap guitar. I put new springs, redid all the wiring, replaced the humbucker, and replaced the paint. the springs really helped the tuning, the paint did wonders since it had thick acryllic paint that didnt compliment the wood, and the humbucker was like a whole new light. If you have time to set this guitar up its a DEAL. But stock, the only thing i really loved was the neck. The reason i take off a star is fret buzz. I had to readjust the tremolo to try and get rid of it. its still slightly there.

Great Beginner Guitar!

By Markus

from Daly City, CA

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

Considering you get what you pay for, you really get what you pay for this guitar. It's a great beginning guitar. It sounds good, but really considering getting a better guitar once you get better. If you like to use the whammy bar a lot, be prepared to change your strings, A LOT. A guitar repairman explained to me that there is a "design flaw" with this guitar's tremolo as well as other similar tremolos that will cause the strings to break more than often when using the whammy.

Good Starter

By River L.

from Las Cruces, NM

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

This guitar has an incredible sound with no distortion. With distortion it gets pretty fuzzy sounding. But if you upgrade the pots, the tension springs, and the strings its a beautiful guitar. the pots helped the distortion sound because Ibanez put cheap pots(replaced very cheap) the tension springs (also very cheap) keep it in tune, and new strings because for whatever reason the strings it came with were not so good... But beginner guitar, dont even look at anything else. Anything better than beginner... wouldnt buy it.

Pretty Heavy

By Dillon

from Phoenix, Arizona

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is pretty much a beast. I didn't like the guitar that much stock due to its cruddy bridge and tuners, but I dropped a Floyd Rose and some new tuners in and it screams. The pickups on this thing are very bassy, good for cleans or brutal distorion. I also really like the input jack. That sounds wierd, but its very hard to pull cables out of it.

Great with adjustments

By MikeM

from Charlotte, NC

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is a steal. The neck, body and tone are awesome! The humbucker tone if fat. The middle pickup is out of phase so you get the nice bell-like tones in positions 2 and 4. I just had a couple of complaints, hence the 4 stars. The bridge saddles have no height adjustments so I had to glue a washer to the back of the high E one to stop the buzz. When pushing the tremolo all the way down, the springs grinded on the wood inside the body. I fixed mine by taking out the springs temporarily and grinding some of the wood away with a round file. I also replaced the string guides with better ones. Now, its a great guitar!

A GREAT GUITAR!!

By Alex Piatt

from Crestline, Ohio

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

This is my first guitar because I am only a beginner but this guitar has helped me progess faster learning wise than most people. I have had it for almost a year now and I have played many guitars but ths is by far the best one yet. When I started I had to play IBANEZ because thats what was used by Metallica, Joe Satriani and DragonForce!, all my favorite bands pretty much. Anyway its a very fast guitar, plays great, sounds excellent for what you paid which is also an amazing price. I recommend this guitar to beginning and experienced guitarists alike. Enjoy!
