This was my first electric guitar when I bought it brand new in 02 or 03. I knew absolutely zero about guitar back then. It was cheap and good looking and my friends all played Ibanez guitars so I had to be a poser and get one. I have not modified it in any way other than new strings periodically. It's a very versatile instrument from blues to jazz to metal and it can take some serious abuse! Excellent starter.

This guitar is alright. I got this guitar when i had just started playing, it was my first electric guitar. The thing is alright, i mean, it usually performs for whats expectred of it. But its often hard to get it in tune, and i had one of the springs holding my string on shoot off into space after about 2 weeks. Its a great starting guitar, but nothing more.

CRANK IT UP!!!

By Bullmoose

from Florida

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

Purchased a GSA60 guitar with "Spider Line 6" 15W amp. I could not believe the sound coming out of this thing. Volume and clarity is clean. Just make sure the pictures hanging on the walls are secured and neighbors are not home (or at least sleeping). Using a Korg Chromatic Tuner CA-30 only takes a couple minutes to turn your guitar. Less than couple minutes once it had been tuned. Started out with a fret noise. Thought it was the guitar but it was the strings on the guitar. It went away before I was able to get the time to take it back. NO REGRETS ON THIS PURCHACE.

Outstanding guitar

By Jim

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

I tried so many different guitars before choosing the Ibanez GSA60. I looked at many guitars that were priced much higher including the Fender Strat and Fat Strat, but loved the way this felt and sounded. I really like the pickup configuration. Great clean sounds on the single coils as well as dirty on the humbucker. I paired this with a Line 6 Spider amp and am absolutely thrilled! As an amateur/hobbyist, this combination offers a vast array of sounds and plenty of power at such a reasonable price. For a little more money than the Squire and Epiphone packs, the difference in quality is enormous.

Not bad at all for a beginner guitar

By spikormikor13

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

This was the first guitar that I got. Originally I was going to get a Squire, but the guy I was talking to persuaded me into getting this, and I'm glad he did. The neck is smooth which allows you to jump and slide from fret-to-fret with ease. You can use a whammy bar on this guitar, which is great, because I love using it, whether it be for soloing, rhythm, or just screwing around. I personally have the blue body and I think it looks great. You can barely tell there's dust on it and if it bothers you, just wipe it off with a dry towel. This is one of the best guitars for it's price.

great backup or main

By mark muller

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

I have owned several fenders untill I came upon the deluxe players strat. I prefer the 12" radius on the strat as I have pickles for fingers. I saw the Ibanez GSA60 hanging in my local music store and asked to play it. Now I own it! The neck radius is even flatter than the strat and the powerhouse pickups deliver a crunch for the blues that noisless strat pickups just dont have. I also like the light body and the trem works better than the strat.Overall, tyhe GSA60 (in black) seems a better guitar as well as easier to play and faster action. It was bought for backup however I find that I play it more often. For the price it just can't be beat! I love it!!!

One of the best!!!

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

Why i rate it the best? At that low price this guitar kicks... I played it in every amps in every studio or in rehearsal stuios and with this guitar he did'nt failed me he always keep me rockin. Just dont make drop D on the E string or else it will be out of tune. My suggest is that you will pair this guitar with any toneworks effects well i have my ax1500g... I have this guitar for 4 yrs now and its sounds good the pick ups still works... More power Ibanez

Great Ibanez, Better Price

By Justin M

from San Antonio, TX

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is versatile and has a great feel and sound. The tremolo works okay but will detune your strings after extended use, but retuning isn't hard if you have a tuner. This is the best guitar for grunge, rock and metal for teh price. It may not look like much from the pictures, but it is much nicer than it appears.

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

this guitar sounds great.if you dont buy it you will regret it.i have a crate xt65r and this is like a combo.the guitar can get out of tune fastif you use the tremolo but its a great guitar for practice.22 frets is good for a beginners because the fret board is a little narrow and it also works for adults,it also good for band practice.

Pretty Heavy

By Dillon

from Phoenix, Arizona

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is pretty much a beast. I didn't like the guitar that much stock due to its cruddy bridge and tuners, but I dropped a Floyd Rose and some new tuners in and it screams. The pickups on this thing are very bassy, good for cleans or brutal distorion. I also really like the input jack. That sounds wierd, but its very hard to pull cables out of it.

A GREAT GUITAR!!

By Alex Piatt

from Crestline, Ohio

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

This is my first guitar because I am only a beginner but this guitar has helped me progess faster learning wise than most people. I have had it for almost a year now and I have played many guitars but ths is by far the best one yet. When I started I had to play IBANEZ because thats what was used by Metallica, Joe Satriani and DragonForce!, all my favorite bands pretty much. Anyway its a very fast guitar, plays great, sounds excellent for what you paid which is also an amazing price. I recommend this guitar to beginning and experienced guitarists alike. Enjoy!

Sweet Guitar That You Wont Want To Put Down

By Ready4Fame

from Austin, Texas

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

This guitar was the first one I saw that I liked the looks of when I walked into Strait Music. So I decided to plug it in just to see if it sounded as good as it looked (I have the white model and even though there is nothing fancy on this guitar it still looks sharp). I plugged it into an Ibanez and Fender amps and I was absolutely amazed at the sustain and sound of the guitar. Even when you went up to the highest notes it didnt sound like something was dying like my last guitar did. I strongly recommend this guitar for begginer and intermediate guitar players. The only problems I see is my guitar (when played on the humbucker setting) kind of fades in and out but not too noticable if you arent really paying attention to it. I also really dont like the whammy bar cause it makes the guitar get out of tune pretty easily which makes it hard to do palm mutting riffs so I think I might get it locked down. Other than those two things its very easy to play and sounds like a true rocking guitar. Way to go Ibanez!!! =)

beginner to intermediate

By MorePaul86

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

The Ibanez Gsa 60 was my first ever guitar... I bought it used when i knew nothing about guitar and it played excellent. I used to play it through a Peavy Rage 158 and it sounded great. from learning scales to intense solos this guitar was excellent. It has taken damage (falls, scratches i.e.) but even through hard falls this guitar remained excellent the only way you knew it had taken damage were the battle wounds left behind. If your'e a beginner or an intermediate player with a low budget, this guitar is for you. It sounds and plays excellent.

Great beginner axe

By Rob M

from Cincinnati, OH

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

I bought my GSA a year ago, and it truly is a very versatile guitar. The neck has a very "fast" feel, compared to pricier ESPs. The Humbucker has a great "chunky" aggressive tone. The guitar has no problem staying in tune as well. One of the best guitars at a starter price, excellent for learning metal. Smooth enough to play jazz with. I will never get rid of mine.

Great with adjustments

By MikeM

from Charlotte, NC

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is a steal. The neck, body and tone are awesome! The humbucker tone if fat. The middle pickup is out of phase so you get the nice bell-like tones in positions 2 and 4. I just had a couple of complaints, hence the 4 stars. The bridge saddles have no height adjustments so I had to glue a washer to the back of the high E one to stop the buzz. When pushing the tremolo all the way down, the springs grinded on the wood inside the body. I fixed mine by taking out the springs temporarily and grinding some of the wood away with a round file. I also replaced the string guides with better ones. Now, its a great guitar!

Great Beginner Guitar!

By Markus

from Daly City, CA

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

Considering you get what you pay for, you really get what you pay for this guitar. It's a great beginning guitar. It sounds good, but really considering getting a better guitar once you get better. If you like to use the whammy bar a lot, be prepared to change your strings, A LOT. A guitar repairman explained to me that there is a "design flaw" with this guitar's tremolo as well as other similar tremolos that will cause the strings to break more than often when using the whammy.

Overall Good Guitar

By Synystar

from Eure, NC

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

I found Ibanez a few years ago and loved the versatility of their guitars. I picked up a GSA-60 as a supplemental guitar because of the wide range of tones I was able to get out of it. The single coil neck pickup is probably the best sounding overall, but the 2nd switch position ( humbucker + single coil ) actually gives a pretty good strat sound. Overall, I'm pretty impressed with this guitar, though as others have mentioned, I'd just as soon not have the tremolo bar. I haven't had too many problems with bends as far as the tuning goes, but I'd definitely recommend sticking with standard tuning ( this guitar does not hold up well in dropped-D ), and keeping the same gauge strings on the guitar every time. Not bad at all for the price. Good action, and easy to play ( so long as you forget about the tremolo bar ).

great guitar for any sort of music

By WillHammerhead93

from Collierville,TN

Comments about Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar:

i have owned this guitar for about two years and have been playing for about four. I bought it at a store named Top Dog, and my parents and i fixed it up since then. When i bought it it had a custom paint job ( it is a orange that i have never seen before). The only problem i have ever had with it is having the input fall out i dont know how it happened and also it goes out of tune quite frequently but all you have to do is tune it back up. Over all it is a great guitar.
