one of my best friends little siblings bought this guitar because he wanted to be like his older brother, and one day i went over to his house and i didn't bring my guitar and i was bored, so i saw that guitar and i picked it up and starting playing with it, i was very surprised, i was expecting it to be like one of those starter guitars that you get at the store, and to my surprise it sounded almost as good as mine, the strings buzzed a little bit, but once i plugged it into an amp i could shred better than my friend who was at the time playing his gibson les paul, his guitar sounded better, but after we got done playing a few songs he took the guitar from me, i think it's the best starter guitar out there for the price.

Comments about Ibanez GRGM21 Mikro Electric Guitar:

I don't own this guitar but i have played it. It has a great sound that is out of this world. It is fun and easy to play though it is a bit small. As you can obviously see it looks great and the wood has a great finish. It is a light giutar and it is easy to handle. I really enjoyed playing this and would recomend it to beginners or people with limited space.

incredible little guitar!

By kimba

Comments about Ibanez GRGM21 Mikro Electric Guitar:

This is an incredible little guitar for the money. It is not a toy or "child's guitar"-it just happens to be a 3/4 size. It looks, plays, and sounds amazing for the price. Don't hesitate because of the size or price--highly recommended!!

Cool Guitar

By Angela Cleveland

from Dallas, TX

Comments about Ibanez GRGM21 Mikro Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar as a valentine's gift for my 14-yr old to add to his collection. He's a guitar critic but is loving this one. This guitar sounds great, has a great price, and is easy for him to handle and pack to friends houses. He says he's shredding faster than ever with it.

Great

By annonymous

Comments about Ibanez GRGM21 Mikro Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar while I was in Asutria without my parents knowledge. That was a mistake. But the sound wasn't. It has a great feel and sound right out of the box... or shop, for me. I would recommend this guitar to beginners, experienced players, children, grannys, anyone. It's a great allaround guitar and the small size makes rythm much easier due to shorter distances. However, solos in the higher ranges can prove to be problematic since the frets are SO close together up there.

Great!

By Derek Branecky

from Flatonia Texas

Comments about Ibanez GRGM21 Mikro Electric Guitar:

For some reason, I woke up one day and felt like buying a guitar, so I went down to Guitar Center and ended up buying this little beauty. I went with the smaller guitar because the frets are shorter which makes it easier to play. I'd recommend it for anyone who's going to try to teach them self how to play or just anyone who wants a guitar that they can shred really easily on.

Good, Small, Cheap little guitar

By Anonymous

from Wausau, WI

Comments about Ibanez GRGM21 Mikro Electric Guitar:

one of my band member's younger sibling bought this guitar, and right after it got out of the box while tuning it one of the strings broke while tuning it, after replacing the strings and playing around with it for a couple minutes i was surprised it didn't have the greatest sound but it wasn't bad at all considering the price if i ever needed a cheap replacement because my guitar broke it would be this guitar.

Mini Metal Madman

By SDMF75

Comments about Ibanez GRGM21 Mikro Electric Guitar:

Bought this little axe for my son on his 5th birthday so he could learn on something scaled down to his size. I was blown away at the action, sound and look of this guitar for the money. When I brought it home I changed he strings out to some 8's to accomodate his small fingers better then adjusted the intonation. When I plugged it in for the 1st time I was shocked at the sound and the ability of the pickups to register the pinch harmonics as well as it does. Don't misunderstand me as it doesn't have Zakk Wylde style EMG's but for a traveling/beginner guitar you won't find anything that sounds or plays better. Definitely worth the money!

Perfect Sound & Size small people

By Neil

from albany, ny

Comments about Ibanez GRGM21 Mikro Electric Guitar:

This guitar awed me when I plugged it in. Awesome sound, great distortions, beautifully crafted top quality same as full size model. My hand is 6.5 inches from top of middle finger straight to base of palm and a thumb to pinky spread also 6.5 in. This is as comfortable as it will get. But, still very difficult to bar chords. The frets are just a little closer to each other than the Fender Affinity Strat but I am playing better now. Sound wise too this Ibanez blows that Fender away. My local Guitar Center is Excellent service Great people.

cool guitar

By Dan H.

from camb. mass.

Comments about Ibanez GRGM21 Mikro Electric Guitar:

Got one for my 6 year old son (he's big for his age and this is just the right size for him) in October 2010. I had it set up and it matches up well with the Fender Champ amplifyer I have. I was so impressed with how it sounds and plays along with my sons' enthusiaism to learn on it, I decided to get one for myself. I'm a bass player by trade, but this guitar has me thinking about switching up.

Let the neighbors hear you

By J. G

from Spanaway, Washington

Comments about Ibanez GRGM21 Mikro Electric Guitar:

As a musician looking back. Its the kind of guitar that you wish your parents bought you first. It promotes one's playing/learning rather than hinder it. Its got accessibility and the action is great. Its beyond most starter guitars for this price range. Its definitely not your daddy's starter guitar!

The best beginner guitar out there for the money

By Brad

from Cleveland, Ohio

Comments about Ibanez GRGM21 Mikro Electric Guitar:

I just got my Mikro today shipped from Guitar Center ordered online, opened the box and wow great looking guitar finish is great got it in white.Put new strings on it 10's tuned it and started playing for two strait hours then two more hours later that nite.I can't put this guitar down.I'm 44 a beginner with smaller hands and couldn't play a regular size guitar comfortably hand cramps and it didn't feel right ect. This thing is so comfortable and easy to play not to mension fun.Don't let the small size fool you it's loud and you can shred the neck. This is my first Ibanez and I see why people like them good sound and good necks. The fret ends were fine not sharp at all and the sharktooth inlays are done nicly too.The tuners arn't all that bad if you put heavier gage strings on it.It will stay in tune longer than one song for a few days and less fustraiting.Pickup's are ok for stock this thing is loud.I love my new guitar and couldn't be happier.I will have this guitar for many yrs. to come.Anyone wanting a good travel or starter guitar for kids or adults this is a must buy.I looked and researched all reviews on this and waited a yr. before buying well worth it.I did play iy in store before so I know I liked it and wanted it.for the price and what it is it's a great beginner/ practice guitar and a good one for 150.00 well worth it.This is not a toy a real guitar. better than Squier,JB. Player,Eleca,Austin Bazzar ect. the pure ebay junk out there. This is a quality well made guitar.

Bad Quality

By Logan

from Tallahassee FL

Comments about Ibanez GRGM21 Mikro Electric Guitar:

I have this guitar now for 8 years. I could write a list a hundred miles long of the things that have gone wrong with it. The springs in the pickups broke, the tone knob broke, it wont stay in tune to play a whole song. You're paying for you quiality with this guitar. Get a different one.

By Bernardo Casanova

Comments about Ibanez GRGM21 Mikro Electric Guitar:

i have had this guitar for about a year and a half and this guitar is tough i pretty muched learned on this thing and it is GREAT for begginers. but even experienced players will loveit too its super light weight and small size makes it easy to be a real performer. tone is a little dull especially for my style but this is the only real problem. but hey for its cheap price you could afford to buy some good pickups and make this guitar a champ. Ibanez rules!

Good For Beginners

By Chris

from Atlanta GA

Comments about Ibanez GRGM21 Mikro Electric Guitar:

This is a great guitar for children and adults with small fingers. About the guitar- it has great pick ups considering its size. The guitar gets out of tune every once in awhile, but its not pain tuning unlike other guitars i did. I would suggest getting it if you want to learn how to play or have a spare guitar. Not a great guitar for pros.

Better Than Other 3/4 Length Guitars

By MATT BERNS

from Michigan

Comments about Ibanez GRGM21 Mikro Electric Guitar:

The feel, fit and finish of this 3/4 length guitar is just plain superior to the Squier and other option that our Guitar Center had. I wanted a guitar for my 7 year old but I can't help but play it too. The problem right off the bat was that even though I brought it home with a fresh set up, it was immediately out of tune when I played it at home. I re-tuned it... played some chords, and it was out of tune again in seconds. I took it in for another set up the next day... This time to a master luthier - not at GC... I brought it home, played some chords, and it went out of tune in seconds again. I immediately took it in AGAIN! The luthier then recommended putting on thicker strings because it was definitely intonated and the neck was straight... PUT 11's ON THIS THING! Now it plays GREAT! The short scale means that if you hit the strings fairly hard, it will pull it out of tune! That's why the luthier recommended thicker strings. THICKER STRINGS HELP on this one. And it's still easy enough for a kid to play. It really feels like a quality instrument... the frets are filed and smooth... the pickups are a little dead but at the same time COMPLETELY adequate for jamming a bit, having some fun, and teaching a kid how to play!
