The Ibanez Mikro GRGM21 Electric Guitar can shred with the big boys. Though smaller than standard-scale guitars, it's no toy. The Mikro is made to the same high standards as all Ibanez guitars and features the very same Powersound pickups that go into all GIO series electric guitars. Its smaller size and shorter scale make the Mikro perfect for young rockers, and it's also an ideal grown-up guitar for tour-bus songwriting or practice.

one of my best friends little siblings bought this guitar because he wanted to be like his older brother, and one day i went over to his house and i didn't bring my guitar and i was bored, so i saw that guitar and i picked it up and starting playing with it, i was very surprised, i was expecting it to be like one of those starter guitars that you get at the store, and to my surprise it sounded almost as good as mine, the strings buzzed a little bit, but once i plugged it into an amp i could shred better than my friend who was at the time playing his gibson les paul, his guitar sounded better, but after we got done playing a few songs he took the guitar from me, i think it's the best starter guitar out there for the price.

I bought this guitar for my 8 year old son. At first I thought it was fantastic, he could actually finger notes up and down the neck. The sound out of my amp was adequite as well. The only problem was that they were all the wrong notes! The intonation was off on all strings. GC was great and said I could bring it in and have the intonation set for free. Unfortunately this didn't work. The adjustment worked for 5 of the six strings, but that final string was unable to be adjusted. I finally returned it and went with the Epiphone LP Express. If you're hoping to play any real music on it, I would really check the guitar over carefully before purchasing it. If it could be adjusted I think it would make a great guitar.

The feel, fit and finish of this 3/4 length guitar is just plain superior to the Squier and other option that our Guitar Center had. I wanted a guitar for my 7 year old but I can't help but play it too. The problem right off the bat was that even though I brought it home with a fresh set up, it was immediately out of tune when I played it at home. I re-tuned it... played some chords, and it was out of tune again in seconds. I took it in for another set up the next day... This time to a master luthier - not at GC... I brought it home, played some chords, and it went out of tune in seconds again. I immediately took it in AGAIN! The luthier then recommended putting on thicker strings because it was definitely intonated and the neck was straight... PUT 11's ON THIS THING! Now it plays GREAT! The short scale means that if you hit the strings fairly hard, it will pull it out of tune! That's why the luthier recommended thicker strings. THICKER STRINGS HELP on this one. And it's still easy enough for a kid to play. It really feels like a quality instrument... the frets are filed and smooth... the pickups are a little dead but at the same time COMPLETELY adequate for jamming a bit, having some fun, and teaching a kid how to play!
I've been playing acoustic for a couple of months now, and I decided it was time to move to an electric guitar. I'm already a musician in other types of instruments, so guitar came pretty easily to me. This is a great guitar for girls, as it's slightly smaller than other guitars, its the best one you can buy if you're just beggining. I love it, comfortable hold, great sound. Buy it now! Great Price!
Awesome guitar, my wife loves it.. We bought this w/ a line 6 amp and works great together. inexpensive guitar for beginner, I would love to buy another one.
Bought the white for for my son because it looked like my rg prestige. Fit and finish is not too good but you get what you pay for. It's not terrible, just some sharp frets and the bridge is not comfortable to palm mute on due to sharp edges. No problems with it in the year since I bought it. Overall still give it 4 stars because of the price. Stock pickups are not terrible either. Best small guitar I looked at in the price range. The best one I looked at was the ESP LTD made one but I did not want to spend that much on one until I knew how serious my son was about playing.
I got this guitar 2 days ago and it's really easy for me to play! I have no problems with this guitar WHATSOEVER. Comfortable and actually kinda heavy. This is a really great guitar for beginners.
I was specifically looking for a short necked electric guitar to learn on, I'm a 25 year old guy with somewhat small fingers. The shortness of the neck higher up on the frets is almost mind boggling, but exactly what I was looking for. My only real issue is the tuning, I'm very careful with it, no one else touches it, yet every time I sit down to play, the little thing is always out of tune.
I just bought this guitar for my two young sons. I was surprised at how well it plays. It is not a toy. This is a real guitar only smaller. Itۡs a great little guitar anyone looking for something small.
Bought this some time ago in 2008 for my little girl. We just found someone who would give her lessons and she fights when we ask her to practice. I let her use my Les Paul and she sat there for 2 hours playing it. I asked her what is wrong with her guitar that she does not like playing it. She said it sounds bad. I tuned it and she played about 5 min and came out and said it sounds bad. The guitar was way out of tune again. This guitar is junk. We even took it to a tech to set it right and while he was playing it the thing went way out of tune badly. Buy something other then this guitar.
I just got my Mikro today shipped from Guitar Center ordered online, opened the box and wow great looking guitar finish is great got it in white.Put new strings on it 10's tuned it and started playing for two strait hours then two more hours later that nite.I can't put this guitar down.I'm 44 a beginner with smaller hands and couldn't play a regular size guitar comfortably hand cramps and it didn't feel right ect. This thing is so comfortable and easy to play not to mension fun.Don't let the small size fool you it's loud and you can shred the neck. This is my first Ibanez and I see why people like them good sound and good necks. The fret ends were fine not sharp at all and the sharktooth inlays are done nicly too.The tuners arn't all that bad if you put heavier gage strings on it.It will stay in tune longer than one song for a few days and less fustraiting.Pickup's are ok for stock this thing is loud.I love my new guitar and couldn't be happier.I will have this guitar for many yrs. to come.Anyone wanting a good travel or starter guitar for kids or adults this is a must buy.I looked and researched all reviews on this and waited a yr. before buying well worth it.I did play iy in store before so I know I liked it and wanted it.for the price and what it is it's a great beginner/ practice guitar and a good one for 150.00 well worth it.This is not a toy a real guitar. better than Squier,JB. Player,Eleca,Austin Bazzar ect. the pure ebay junk out there. This is a quality well made guitar.
I love this guitar!!! Can't stop playing it!!! It came set up all I need to do is change strings and tune.I does stay in tune fairly well.I'm 44 and trying to learn to play. After trying other guitars that we not comfortable,I tried this out in store a yr. ago was worth the wait. The neck on this guitar is perfect so comfortable and flat as well as thin.It is the best beginner guitar out there for anyone kids and adults. The only thing to do to this guitar to use it playing gigs is replace tuners and pickups otherwise it needs nothing at all.I'm really impressed with Ibanez quality I have the white one andit is one very sharp looking guitar just like a full size RG. While most people complain and knock this guitar about the sharp frets or getting a bad one not set up to play ect.I see nothing wrong for what this guitat is made for and it's a good one remember what you apid for it people.i also waited the yr. and really reaserched this guitar and all reviews are right about it that it's a great fun quality guitar specally for small handed players ect,it also makes playing fun and more comfortable to play so you want to play.I had to stop playing after 3 hrs. strait to write this review and I want to play more and longer.I will have this guitar for yrs. to come.I ordered it from guitar centers online cam in set up condition nothing wrong at all.
