I bought my Gio GRG250DXB at GC in Fort Worth, it's White, w/black pick guard and paid $179 on sale. I like the sound I get from the pickups, they are set high and the volume I get is loud and clear. I like the raw feel of the maple neck, it's radius fits my small hands well and the heaviness of the body makes it feel substantial after holding a Les Paul. For all of this I'd give it 4 stars, but it has a problem that overshadows what I like about it. The bridge is the Standard Double Locking Tremolo as it's labeled on Ibanez's website, but this tremolo is set wrong or it's defective. the high E 1st string will not fine tune. To properly intonate the high E string you have to set the saddle so far forward that it's fine tuner foot lever is too far forward and the fine tuning screw doesn't make contact. this makes the locking nut useless for the B and E strings which in turn messes up the whole thing. It seems that they have the bridge posts set about 1/8 of an inch to far forward for the 25.5 inch scale. The saddle of the low E and the G both had to be moved back to the second screw and then pulled back significantly to get them intonated correctly. I'm not sure if this is on purpose and why it would be, but I'm not a fan of this guitar now. I wish I'd paid closer attention when I was trying it out. I haven't tried to take it back, but I can probably move the bridge myself and overcome this. Make sure you check the intonation on any $599 or less Ibanez cheap-o-guitar. I wouldn't pay close to what I paid for this guitar in the future if they don't resolve these issues.
