Got this guitar the day before the fourth of July and it's amazing. let's begin with the neck of the guitar made from maple, great and easy to play on it has the feel i was looking for in a guitar something heavy when i kicked it up with the distortion. Also the shark inlays gives it the nice look that stands out. soloing is just great with this, easy to handle and its sounds just great on clean mode too best purchase ever .i would recommend this to anyone looking for a good guitar at a great price

For a beginner guitar....this thing is great. But if you've been playing longer than a year...you'd know right off the bat that this thing is terrible! The switch for the pickups would make a static sound, and sometimes the neck pickup would not work...thankfully I fixed that, but an inexperienced player would have a lot of trouble dealing with this problem. If you have experience with fixing guitars or electronic equipment, and you are a beginner that doesn't have very high expectations for play-ability and reliability, then this is your guitar! If you have high expectations, and are looking for a "bang for the buck" guitar.....look elsewhere.

Comments about Ibanez GRG120BDX Electric Guitar:

I have had this guitar for about 6 months now and i absolutely love it! The pickups sound amazing and the low profile bridge works super well. The only bad thing i have to say is if you are going to use the tremolo bride extensively i would for sure get a locking nut. Overall an amazing guitar for a great price!

Comments about Ibanez GRG120BDX Electric Guitar:

I went to stick the cord into the plug and where it connects to the guitar It just caved right in. it looks like maybe there is a bolt missing? Not sure what happened . This happened the second day. It would be nice if they sent me in the missing bolt or whatever it is missing to secure it. maybe I can find one in the hardware that fits.

Comments about Ibanez GRG120BDX Electric Guitar:

A bargain. It has a very nice fretboard, it easy to play, has a good tone, and is very well made. The only thing that is a little annoying is you have to remove the tremolo cover plate if you want to change the Low E string; other than that it's a pretty solid guitar.

This guitar is extremely easy to play, has a very nice and comortable fretboard, and has a good tone. It was definitely worth the money. I'very played Fender before, but I like this brand better.

Comments about Ibanez GRG120BDX Electric Guitar:

I bought this at a guitar center recently. Tried it out in store and was thoroughly impressed. I did notice that it did not include a whammy which was slightly upsetting... But I have only played guitar for 8 or so months so I don't need to bother with a whammy at this point. Only problem I have had other than that is that the cable sometimes doesn't sit properly in the port but it is most likely the issue of my old cable. Big improvement from my old, used Squier!

I got this guitar as a gift from my aunt for my birthday, and I thoroughly enjoy it. This is a solidly built instrument; it is perfect as a beginner guitar and for practicing. I would recommend this guitar to either a newcomer to the instrument or a seasoned pro looking for a quality practice guitar.

Comments about Ibanez GRG120BDX Electric Guitar:

              THE GOOD:
The guitar looks great, as most Ibanez guitars do. The finish is flawless and there are no issues with the electronics. The neck is very smooth, and you can really glide up and down the neck with ease (unlike some guitar's whose necks seem to get "sticky", especially in humid weather). I had the guitar setup at the local GC and also had the stock strings replaced with a new set of "hybrid" Ernie Ball strings. I'm actually impressed with how good the stock humbucker pickups sound thru my Fender Mustang II amp; I was hoping for a better sound than my daughter's Squire Affinity Strat, and I got it. I like that the neck is a little wider than my old electric gtr (a Les Paul clone that I no longer have), because that makes it easier to fingerpick.

              THE BAD:
My #1 gripe about this guitar is that using the whammy bar makes it go out of tune. Do just one dive-bomb, and you'll have to retune it. Bending notes also makes it go out of tune, although it takes 2 or 3 bends on the same string to make that string go out of tune. IF HEAVY USE OF THE WHAMMY BAR OR NOTE-BENDING ARE A MAJOR PART OF YOUR STYLE, THEN STAY AWAY...FAR, FAR AWAY...FROM THIS GUITAR. YOU WILL SPEND MORE TIME RETUNING IT THAN PLAYING IT. I actually removed the whammy bar so the temptation to use it isn't there. There's also still some fret buzz despite having GC do a full setup on it (this is partially due to the fact that I like the action to be lower). I probably should have had the intonation done too, because sometimes it doesn't sound like it's in tune, even when it IS in tune.

              OVERALL:
Despite the tuning issues, I prefer this guitar over my daughter's Squire Affinity Strat. The neck is super smooth & fast, and the dual humbuckers sound really good (nice clean sound, surprisingly good distorted sound). More appropriate for a beginner, or as a spare for practice, but not for a player who wants to whammy and note-bend a lot. I'd buy it again, but would look for a used one first.
