Great bass for the price

By Alfredo Garcia

Comments about Ibanez DTB100 Destroyer 4-String Electric Bass Guitar:

I always wanted an Explorer style bass so when I heard Ibanez (my brand of choice) was gonna release a limited edition Destroyer bass I knew I had to get one. The price is great. $300 for a Destroyer bass? It doesn't get any better. I was a little skeptical, however, about the passive pickups. All the basses I had in the past used active pickups. Then I hooked this monster into an amp and I was blown away. This bass has a really nice treble punch can handle the low notes with ease and the higher notes sound very clear. Everything about this bass is just great. The bridge is fully adjustable and most importantly the neck is very fast. It feels very much like p bass neck, it's that great. The only down side, and not that important, are the strings. I found the gauge too low (then again I'm not a fan of Elixir strings which are the ones this bass comes with) so I exchanged them right away. If you have the chance to get one of these basses you should. You won't regret it.

Cool retro vibe, outstanding value

By James Young

from Plano, TX

Comments about Ibanez DTB100 Destroyer 4-String Electric Bass Guitar:

I had long been looking at the vintage Ibanez Destroyer basses on eBay; most were worn out and damaged so I was thrilled when Ibanez announced this limited-run Destroyer bass. Out of the box (no case is included but Explorer-style bass gig bags are easy to locate online), the candy apple finish looks perfect and is well complimented with the gold hardware and ivory pickup covers. The action was (as usual) too high at first but 15 minutes and a few truss rod and bridge adjustments later, it plays fast and near perfect with a low action. I was worried that this bass would be too heavy but its weight is perfect. The mahogany body is very resonant and suited for bass tones. The neck will dive when you let go of it; a 3-inch strap will help with this. I have so far played two live shows with a classic metal project with this bass and received numerous compliments on its tone and looks! Do NOT miss your chance to own one of these basses, as Ibanez is limiting production to 120 total.
