Comments about Ibanez Artwood AW300ECE Solid Top Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
The Ibanez AW300CENT sounds and feels as good as it looks, which is exquisit. The back and sides are a beautiful burnt orange with contrasting dark grain in some pretty amazing patterns. The AW300CE is very loud, infact I can hardly tell when it's plugged in to my 10 watt amp, which not only means that the acoustics were already filling up the room, but also that the electronics were accurately reproducing the guitar's very bright ringing tone. I also have a Dean grand auditorium which has better seperation of notes and sweeter tone, however the characteristcs of the AW300CE that would cause me to look to another guitar for picking melodies are the same characteristics that make it perfect for strumming, it sounds like shimmering thunder. I know that Martins and Taylors are supposed to be the best, but I can't imagine a guitar sounding better than this one. The inlays aren't dots, they're little kite shapes with a larger special inlay at the 12th fret, inlays in the bridge and an abalone rosette, I know that doesn't help it sound better but it does add top notch looks to top notch feel and top notch sound, which to me makes this a top notch guitar even if it doesn't have a top notch price.
