Comments about Ibanez Artstar AF151 Hollowbody Electric Guitar:
Today, I just received my AF151f (floating pickup)from Guitar Center. It is my first Ibanez guitar. I have been playing, exploring, and studying music for forty six years now. Compared to the Gibson 175's and Heritage archtops I own, this guitar is absolutely right in, and maybe above the zone of those instruments. It plays smoothly and consistently from top to bottom of the neck. The detailing, frets, and finish are top notch. The floating pickup has an even spectrum across the frequencies of the fretboard. I replaced the flatwound strings with round wound 11's, just my preference. And eventually I may replace the bridge with an adjustable metal topped unit. I know this is not a true jazz approach, but I like the greater definition that the metal bridge adds. Another thing that really pleases me is the value of this guitar. When you consider that a Gibson or Heritage of equal build and design will cost two to three times the cost of the AF151f, that, to me makes playing even more enjoyable
