Made of mahogany, just like the classics, the AR320 Artist's symmetrical double-cutaway body style was a first in the production guitar world. Ibanez's biggest leap forward will continue to be appreciated by today's player: the tri-sound switching system, a unique configuration that opens up the number of pickup/tone possibilities. No matter what the setting, the Super 58s pack this axe with rich tonal palette. Gorgeous old school pearl/abalone block inlays make for a path back to one of rock's most dynamic chapters.

Was skeptical of the guitars tone at first. The body was not as thick as my previous model. I needed a versatile solid body to accompany my beloved 2005 AF Artcore Custom. Jackpot! A little neck heavy, but that is the only criticism. I have done my preliminary set up, and it is straight butter. Sealing the finish with Gerlitz guitar wax. Ibanez has the most beautiful and DURABLE finishes. I have loved Super 58 pickups since their introduction. I get a good range and response from these pickups. The Tri-Sound is an added bonus. I was shocked at the depth of this guitars tone. Bottom line, if you want a good solid body that's versatile and doesn't cosr a grand, buy this. And the Tri-Sound works better than Gibson's coil cuts.
Saw a gold-top AR-320 just like this one at Guitar Center one and I tried it out; it sounded, played, and felt great. Not muddy or heavy and the neck wasn't clubby like that of a Gibson or even an Epiphone. Two days later, I trade my Gibson Les Paul Studio for the goldtop AR-320 and with the trade, the price was only $235! Only modification I did to it was get strap-locks (Dunlop's) and a hard-shell case (Road Runner LP-style) for it, but other than that, this guitar is perfect! I would definitely recommend it for those who don't want to dish out $1,000's of dollars for a Gibson of the same quality or for an Epiphone at the same price, but no matching quality.
