Comments about Ibanez Artcore Expressionist AFJ95B Hollow Body Electric Guitar:

I have the AFJ95, in it original iteration. The new one has a B in its designation because of the black binding; mine has ivory colored binding. I use it for jazz venues, smooth jazz, and church praise music. This guitar has impressed me for the money, tone, and playability. It uses the formula that Gibson uses for jazzbox woods with a Spruce top, and Maple back and sides, and no laminates. This one has a rosewood bridge and fingerboard, as opposed to costly ebony, which enhances the richness of tone, especially with the flat wound strings and wooden bridge. The guitar I have was bought in 2013 and has a violin sunburst finish. The Super 58 pickups are well matched for the guitar's output, but I rarely use the bridge pickup.
It plays like butter and has great tone to match. I don't think anyone who does legato style guitar would be disappointed. The neck has a nice fullness that allows for both speed and comfort. The volume and tone controls are the smoothest I have in my 10 electric guitars. The only bad part is that the case is separate, which is a must for this beautiful instrument, which can be found for $100+.
