fluent blues

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS93 Electric Guitar:

I've had this guitar about 10 months it's been good to me and brought me back into guitar playing something I now have time to focus on. It has good tone and for the price has a lot going for it.. I think the H pick ups could be better and I might change them, I have added the optional pick guard, (something to rest my fingers on). The coated brass bridge etc. could be of better quality as the coating, (polished), wears off after some use, (sweat related), so some clear nail polish may add some protection?. I think in all for what you pay for this guitar it is a good purchase though falls short of the professional axe so I may upgrade to a JS 100, if I can free up the dollars, or maybe something a little more extravagant ???.

Beautiful!

By Tony

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS93 Electric Guitar:

As I have a few different guitars, I decided on a hollow or semi-hollow, for my next purchase. The Joe Pass, is a very nice piece, loved the casino's and sheridens. BUT, looks, versitility, feel, and of course the great price, I could not pass this one up.I got the blue sunburst w/stoptail bridge. Love, did I say love this guitar. Better than the Epiphones I was considering. Just feels right, and if you like the "Chuck Berry" sound, well look no further, if you like to experiment, this guitar can do just about anything you would like. I don't do the fretboard gymnastics of some heavy metal music, so I am sure this may not be appropiate. If you can at least give this one a try, it is killer!

Ibanez Rocks My Blues

By BluesRocker

from Kansas City, Missouri

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS93 Electric Guitar:

I've owned and played my AS93 for over two years now. I love this guitar. And the more I play it the better it gets. It has never failed me so it's reliable. It plays like melted butter and sounds awesome through a Fender Blues Jr. NOS amp. A Gibson ES335 or Epiphone Sheraton II ain't got nothin' on this guitar. The neck pickup sounds so sweet for blues soloing it will make your ears weep with joy. I ordered mine sight unseen with confidence because I know the quality of Ibanez Artcore guitars because I already had an AM73TBR when I ordered this one. When it arrived I examined it thoroughly...it was flawless. The gold hardware on the Blueburst finish with white binding is stunning. The pickup selector switch is rugged and feels solid. The volume and tone pots turn freely and work very well. Everything was tight. The setup was pretty good and the intonation was spot on right out of the box. It required very little attention to bring it up to my satisfaction. Like I said, I have two Artcores, an AM73TBR (3yrs) and an AS93BLS and both of them are great guitars. Oh sure, the AS93 is a better guitar because it's a deluxe model but they both play and sound awesome. So if you are looking for that semi-hollow vibe then the AS93 is as good as it get for the money. Oh yeah, unless yo have tiny hands, Gibson and Epiphone 335 style guitars have restricted access to frets above the fifteenth, Ibanez Artcores do not.

Great Guitar

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS93 Electric Guitar:

This is a great guitar, it is very high quality and the way it sounds will blow you away. My band plays mainly alternative stuff but we also do some metal and hard rock sometimes. Ive played it in drop D with a heavy metal sound on a line 6 amp and it sounds insane. It is a very versatile and great looking guitar Buy it!!!!

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS93 Electric Guitar:

I'm more than a hobbyist, but do not consider myself a seasoned pro, by any means. I've played guitar for around 23 years and I always wanted to get a semi hollow-body guitar. I originally looked at the 335's ages ago, but never got around to buying one. I'm glad I didn't. After reading the reviews and listening to people play it on YouTube (look for Santi Guillén's video of this guitar), I knew this was the one I wanted.

I ordered the blue starburst version from GuitarCenter.com and once it arrived, I unpacked it at the store to inspect it (never bought a guitar online before so wanted it shipped to the store in case there was something wrong with it). Four employees stopped what they were doing to look at it and comment on how beautiful it is. The blue really is gorgeous.

I could tell the playability on this was fantastic from the moment I unwrapped it and started tuning it up. The action on it was perfect. I could probably have it professionally set, but I don't want to give it up long enough to do that, right now.

I do have a '52 Gibson hollow-body electric and a '96 mid-range Strat, but the Ibanez AS93 is definitely my favorite. It sounds incredible through a vintage tube amp, but should sound excellent in a solid state amp as well.

This was such a great buy and I can't recommend it enough.

Outstanding Guitar

By Lanney

from Corona, CA

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS93 Electric Guitar:

I sold my Gibson 336cs which I paid over $3,000.00 for, this Ibanez model as93 as far as I am concerned looks just as nice, the quality is there and plays wonderfully. I did my ouw set up, straignten the neck a little, lowered the bridge a little and corrected the harmonics and now it sounds and plays better than the Gibson for thousands more. Simply put this is an outstanding guitar. Guitar center delivered as promissed with a 30 day back guarantee. Go get one!!!!

great build quality

By Jazzcat

from Northeast

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS93 Electric Guitar:

Excellent build quality. High attention to detail such as interior gluing, paint, binding, flush mounted bridge, and level frets. The pickups are distinctive in that they are clear and articulate...less of a midrange tone than other pickups. There is full access to the neck with a rounded neck feel that conforms to most hand shapes and results in easier playing. String tension is light especially with 9 gauge strings. IMO it sounds worse with flatwound strings that seem to limit atriculation

Great Guitar

By Chad Chacchia

from Dallas, Tx

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS93 Electric Guitar:

I will start out by saying that I have only been playing a little over a year. I will say though that in that year I have developed an obsession and play all the time. I also spend a great deal of time researching both my inspirational artist and how to achieve their tones. That being said, I first looked at Epiphone Casino's, when I decided I wanted a semi hollow body. I personally did not particularly like the feel. I grabbed an Articore, just to compare and I felt the action was much better. The thing felt great. When I started researching their site, I saw the Blue Sunburst and fell in Love with the look. I ordered it without seeing one in person or actually playing an AS model. I must admit I was a bit concerned at that idea. Concerned no more. Out of the box, this guitar is absolutely stunning. Anyone who has seen it has commented on how beautiful it is. Test one, passed with flying colors. Then I plugged it in and was heaven. For clean blues, it sounds fantastic. I had read the output in the pickups was a bit low, so I was concerned how it would sound for rock and fuzz. It sounds awesome for those as well. I play through a Peavy Delta Blues 210 and use a few different effects. I will say I can achieve all the tones I want from Floydish Gilmour sounds (wich was a big pleasant surprise) to Gary Clark Jr. Fuzz. I havent played my strat since I bought it! Bottom line.....This guitar looks great, feels fantastic and sounds fantastic. If something ever happens to it, it will be replaced by another one. It will stay in my collection!

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS93 Electric Guitar:

This is an astounding deal. I have had several Gibsons including a ES 335 and the fit and finish of the AS93 is actually better. The Super 58 pickups sound great right out of the box and the fretwork is excellent. I may switch to a Gotoh bridge and stoptail at some point since I have used them for many years, but I will leave everything else as is. The matching Ibanez case was made by TKL and is good for the money with three latches, but if you need a true road worthy case you will want to spend more and upgrade. This model Ibanez guitar is simply a gem, check it out.
